Yes, finally, an Obama biographer admits what the right side of the blogosphere has known for the last four years, that there was no Obama family, that the president's mother and presumed father never lived together, and that mother and baby "were long gone from Honolulu" within a month of the baby's birth.
Unfortunately, no one bothered to check the record while Obama was basing his persona and his candidacy on the myth of this multicultural romance. This includes Maraniss himself. In a botched 10,000-word Washington Post article published on the eve of the 2008 election, he chose to overlook the fact that Obama created a false narrative for the first two years of his life and then ran for president on that narrative.
He was not alone. Everyone in the respectable media, left and right, did the same. This includes the New Yorker's David Remnick in his 2010 Obama bio, the New York Times's Janny Scott in her 2011 bio of Obama's mother, the Boston Globe's Sally Jacobs in her 2011 bio of Obama's father, and the Times's Jodi Kantor in her 2012 book on the whole extended family.
Worse, conservative writer Dinesh D'Souza based his disingenuous 2010 bestseller, The Roots of Obama's Rage, on a story that had been debunked in the conservative blogosphere as early 2008 and was widely known to be false by 2009.
As is becoming increasingly clear, the rise of Barack Obama represents a journalistic scandal of historic proportion.

We have a constitutional method for getting rid of a president.
As of this date, we still have no method of getting rid of a lying propagandist journalist, or their publication.
It is my belief that every Democrat columnist goes to bed with the garment-renting lament “If only he were a Republican...”. The same thing they did with Clinton. All those damning facts about the President and they can’t talk about them. They live to play Kingbreaker and they aren’t allowed to do it.
In 2008 it was far more important for the media to investigate the background of that notorious figure, Joe the plumber Wurzelbacher.
Obama’s autobiographies are outright frauds and were written solely to create a phony persona for political purposes. Probably the most in character part of Obama’s life that has recently been revealed is his marijuana hazed high school and college days.
Peter Boyles of Denver’s 630 KHOW had a hollywood producer on this morning who was pissed off about the flack she has taken just talking about Obama’s past.
The media not only chose to “overlook” the bogus Obama story, they accuse anyone of asking questions about it as being “racist”.
Yes, but we don't have a Congress with the backbone to do it.
We may have a Congress that would if it got it’s belly full enough. (Translation: Under the right circumstances)
We sure as hell don’t have a Senate that would.
Those little prancers over there would either faint or scamper off the stage screaming...
Oh, there’s a way, but I don’t think we want to degenerate to the level of the mooselimb jihadis. I think we ought to bring back the stocks ... shame the lying bastards publicly.
I’m sympathetic to your view, but you do realize how those stocks would be seen right? ;^)
I would hope on PPV.
That's part of the conundrum. Impeachment is the remedy for removing a legitimate officeholder. If the argument is that Obama is not legitimately holding the office based on lack of qualifications, impeachment is meaningless.
I think obama gave us a big clue when he called the book “Dreams” from my Father.
He (and/or Bill Ayers) DREAMED a lot of this up.
Funny. People are finally catching on after being slapped in the face with it time after time.
Congratulations on waking up from obama’s Dreams.
I want to throw rotten tomatoes.
I’m not that violent. If we’re not going to try and convict and hang the traitors, I just want to use tickle torture on them, and being confined int he stocks would make that any citizen’s remedy.
Frank M Davis dreamed up a lot of this up too...
That’s an interesting take on the possible impeachment of Obama. As stated I can’t really disagree with you.
BTW: It be meaningless, but it will do...
