In the aftermath of a Wednesday vote by a House committee accusing Attorney General Eric Holder of being in contempt of Congress, the attorney general accused the panel's top Republican Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) of provoking a partisan showdown between the branches of government.
"He has chosen to use his authority to take an extraordinary, unprecedented and entirely unnecessary action, intended to provoke an avoidable conflict between Congress and the Executive Branch," Holder said in a statement.
"This divisive action does not help us fix the problems that led to this operation or previous ones and it does nothing to make any of our law enforcement agents safer. It's an election-year tactic intended to distract attention -- and, as a result -- has deflected critical resources from fulfilling what remains my top priority at the Department of Justice: Protecting the American people," Holder said.

How dare Congressman Issa issue us a subpoena - he knew that President Obama would not let the DOJ turn over documents the showed the administration involved in felonies.

Well, the Attorney General told a lie before. Why should we believe him now? And where does executive privilege come into this, Mr. Attorney General?
I wish I thought you were right. I’ve seen this tactic win so many times before. Usually not from a public podium though by people who will have to continue to face so many people. Usually this tactic is by shameless children who don’t understand loss of credibility or honor or reputation though or criminals who have no conscience or soul. I guess these creeps fall into the latter category.
They also have an unlimited access to the bully pulpit to get their message out. Goebbels is a piker compared to these evil bastards. Hitler was a pussy next to oblabla and his handlers.
Issa and co don’t have the skills to counter this shameless and relentless strategy of false screaming righteous indigence. Can’t you see that we are interfering with all their efforts to uphold the law and protect the innocent citizens who have trusted and depend upon them for all their protection?

Translation: Despite the number of people who have died as a result of this idiotic program, neither I nor any other person in the Obozo administration should be held responsible. In fact, since the program has been discontinued, there is no reason to move forward with the investigation.

The only “problem” that led to this situation is your Justice Dept., Mr. Holder, refusing to turn over the documents that Congress had every legal right to subpoena.
Want to resolve the issue, Mr. Holder? Turn over the documents - ALL of them, NO redactions, and do it NOW. You guys say you did nothing wrong, so then there won’t be anything to find in them - and you get to tell all of us how wrong we were.
