"It has several immediate effects," syndicated columnist and FOX News contributor Charles Krauthammer said about President Obama using executive privilege to protect Attorney General Eric Holder from the Fast & Furious investigation today.
"The first is, as you mentioned in the grapevine, there's no way that the mainstream media, which have studiously tried to ignore this can do that anymore. In fact, as you pointed out, NBC, which has shown exactly ten seconds of coverage of this on its Evening News in the last year-and-a-half, is now going to have to explain the whole thing since the viewership has no idea what it's about. So, number one, it becomes huge national issue," Krauthammer said on a special edition of the panel on FOX News' "Special Report" broadcast this evening.

So, instead of reportage, we’re gonna get wall-to-wall spin about how “This is nothing, and besides, it’s the Republicans’ fault” (And the sheeple will just lap it up...)
I always had a lot of respect for Charlie but how can someone as brilliant as he is so grossly underestimate the power of the MSM to ignore something as huge as this should be? Sorry Charlie, nothing to see here keep moving. Just typical republicans trying to bring down another black man.

Operation Fast & Furious had as its central purpose the subversion of the US Constitution. The program's stategy was to gin up a furor over guns sourced in the US being used in Mexican crime so that the US public could be stampeded into restricting the 2nd Amendment.. Since few such guns were being used in Mexico more had to be supplied. They also had to show up at crime scenes so that they could be traced back to the US to 'prove' the Obama administration's assertions.The question is, how many REPUBLICANS understand all this. I think the answer is: far too few.The GOP should be harping on one message every time F&F is mentioned. F&F was a program designed to result in Mexican deaths - so that 'evil' US-sourced guns could be found at the crime scenes and US gun laws could be blamed for the carnage. Holder, Napolitano, Hillary and Obama and a host of their minions cooked this program up knowing that Mexicans would die - in fact, needing Mexicans to die for this scheme to work. The Obama administration was cynically willing to slaughter Hispanics to accomplish their political purposes. The only "botch" in the scheme was F&F guns turning up to get Americans killed too.
Reality being what it is, they will likely go largely unmentioned. And if Obama manages to get re-elected, well...

LSM may no longer be able to ignore the story, but the spin will be that it’s a racist witch hunt. After all, it was only a white border patrol agent that died here.

But, imagine how the conversation went when the plotters were doing their plotting:

How much time did the MSM devote to this? I watched a couple of minutes on ABC where they did talk about it, but they have Jake Tapper who has not been completely in the tank for Obama. I don't know how NBC and CBS covered it.
Well, Democrats tend to be liars. They get agitated when facts contradict their agenda.
Can't agree more. Properly enunciated (by not using words like "enunciated" ;-) that strategy will put the kibosh on any Latino bump for the Dems. Even better, it's true - there is no other straightforward explanation for the Administration's behavior.

during the next Democrat convention, the new media and unbiased media should be pointing their cameras at CNN, MSNBC, CBS, AND FNC DURING the speeches.

The MSM tried to protect John Edwards too. Guess their reputation didn’t take enough of a beating on that one - so now they’re going to ‘protect’ Holder. Fools.
What's hurting MSM credibility the most? Hiding black crime... The press doesn't know how obvious that one is... and how people stop trusting institutions that lie...
