Mitt Romney criticized President Barack Obama's immigration plan on Thursday, saying that as president, he will "put in place my own long-term solution that will replace and supersede the President's temporary measure."
That plan is still vague, but it does not involve a path to legalization for any of the country's estimated 11 million illegal immigrants except for people who enlist in the military, according to a release from the campaign.
"As President, I won't settle for a stop-gap measure," he said during his speech to to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Annual Conference in Orlando, Fla. "I will work with Republicans and Democrats to find a long-term solution. I will prioritize measures that strengthen legal immigration and make it easier. And I will address the problem of illegal immigration in a civil but resolute manner."
In the speech, Romney said that he would make it easier for legal immigrants to bring their spouses and children to America, as well as beef up temporary work visas for low-skilled workers. He also reiterated that he thinks foreign students who get advanced degrees in America should be given green cards. Romney's immigration plan also includes a "high tech fence" for the border and a national, mandatory employment verification system that ensures employers do not hire illegal immigrants.

So Romney’s plan is to keep them here, rather than a long-term plan to encourage illegals to go home. But don’t worry, Romney’s plan does not include citizenship!

Not a surprise to hear it from Mitt, who like many moderate Republicans has been sympathetic to an amnesty solution for a long time.
Mitt’s proposal, which would require Congress’ assent, would at least have the virtue of being constitutional, unlike the Obama power grab. However, the devil is in the details, and Mitt really needs to learn the “U” word — calling Obama’s approach frankly Unconstitutional would show that Mitt actually does have some wits. By omission, whether for fear of touching a third rail or whatever, Mitt makes an apparent statement like “oh, Obama has just a badly thought out plan.” No, Mitt, it’s Unconstitutional.
Obama did an illegal act and should be jailed and impeached for it. It sucks Congress is concentrating on this fast and furious (now this monster Obama becoming a dictator and giving illegals Amnesty will be forgotten).
Read closely because it says implicitly that he will keep Obama’s order in place until congress gets a immigration bill to his desk, which given history could take a long while. Yet he doesnt want to explicitly admit he will keep Obama's order n place. He was asked 6 times on CBS about this on Sunday and refused to answer.

Does anybody in DC or media realize how dangerous it is to have huge numbers “second class non-citizens” within our borders? How destructive and demoralizing it is to suddenly have them handed what millions of people are waiting patiently in line for?
I’m really worried. Romney is going to try to outbid Obama for the “Hispanic” vote and it is going to be catastrophic.
