I watched a buddy walk one of those CATs stuck in a pit using the bucket to claw itself up. Pretty cool. To thank him the land owner’s pit bull snuck up and bit him.

If it’s got an articulated arm(s) on it, I’ve used it to get out of almost anywhere: pits, mud, water, marshes, sand. Getting into those situations was the dumb thing. Whoops.
