BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -
A home invasion suspect who escaped from authorities at a hospital before being captured a few hours later now faces robbery charges for a separate incident.
Birmingham Police have obtained two robbery warrants against Deandre Miles, a 19-year-old from Birmingham. The latest charges are in connection to an April 20 robbery on Indian Summer Drive, a community off of Pinson Valley Parkway.
Police say Miles and his accomplice robbed a homeowner and a contractor who were meeting for a home repair estimate around 2:30 p.m. on a Friday afternoon. The homeowner had a surveillance video system set up at his home which captured the entire robbery incident.

The homeowner says he watched a car drive past the house several times before two masked men came around the side of the house armed with guns. The victim says one of the robbery suspects demanded his money, wallet and watch. Less than a minute after the robbery started, the suspects fled the scene.
After investigators identified the suspect in the Indian Summer Drive robbery as Miles, they learned he was already in custody on a robbery charge stemming from a home invasion in Pinson on June 15. Jefferson County Sheriff's officials say Miles and a second suspect allegedly robbed a Pinson homeowner at gunpoint, but fled the home when the homeowner shot and wounded Miles.
Both of the robberies Miles is charged in happened around 2:30 p.m. on a Friday and involved two masked and armed suspects approaching homeowners who could be seen from the roadway. In both cases, the homeowner's wives were also at home during the time of the robberies. The only person injured in either of the robberies was
