While the T-SPLOST vote rightly gets most of the attention, the July 31 primaries will also feature a number of ballot questions for both Republican voters and Democrats. Weve covered a few of them in previous Poll Positions, and today were going to resume that series with a bang. No, really.
The third question on GOP primary ballots will read:
Should active duty military personnel who are under the age of 21 be allowed to obtain a Georgia weapons carry license?

Yes, No, I don't know.
any law abiding adult should be able to carry without a special license.
Yes (53 Votes)
No (25 Votes)
I don’t know (5 Votes)
Total Voters: 83
Wrong question. It should be "In light of the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, should the requirement for any license or permit to own or carry a firearm be eliminated for all adult citizens?"
What a weird bill. Active duty military personnel of any age can already carry in Georgia without a license. They’re also exempt from the restrictions that Georgia weapons carry license holders have, and can carry basically anywhere a police officer can.
If they want reciprocity and exemption from NICS checks, they can get a nonresident permit from any of several states that have better reciprocity than GA does. As far as I can tell, this bill changes nothing and benefits no one.
