Sea levels along the California coast are expected to rise as much as 1 foot in 20 years, 2 feet by 2050 and as much as 5 1/2 feet by the end of the century, climbing slightly faster than the global average and increasing the risk of flooding and storm damage, a new study says.

“Sea level rise isn’t a political question it’s a scientific reality,” said Gary Griggs-Wanker, a coastal geologist at UC Santa Cruz and a member of the committee that issued the report.

The 274-page report was drafted by a committee of U.S. scientists that formed as a result of a 2008 executive order by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, which directed state agencies to plan for the effects of sea level rise.

The land along the beaches rises and falls like twice a day, a distance of several feet. Nobody cares.

See, because when I fill up the bathtub, parts of it get full quicker than other parts.

This is only being claimed because liberals live there.

This character has set a timeframe by the end of which he’ll most likely be retired with his pension, sitting on the same stretch of beach that he predicted would be under water and belching after finishing off his ten-pack of beer.

Not to worry Laz - when I leave CA, I’m pulling the plug. It’ll sink soon enough - then I’ll have a beach in AZ!

“California is sinking under the weight of its gov’t debt? Or illegal aliens? Or both?”

Neither. California is sinking under the weight of its own bullshiite.

I would imagine you’d be able to purchase some beachfront property at a nice price. Has the exodus inland started?

So it's all in the future. Nothing actually has happened yet.

Or rather, what's happened is, chicken little's voice just went up 2 octaves.
