One of the U.S. Senate’s leading experts on judicial matters and homeland security tells Newsmax that President Barack Obama’s invocation of executive privilege is a clear signal that there’s something the administration is trying to hide at the heart of the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal.
“There’s fire there. It’s not just smoke, and there’s no other reason to have that,” said Sen. Tom Coburn in an exclusive Newsmax interview. “There is legitimate cause to be concerned about the untruthfulness of the attorney general — and his lack of forthrightness with oversight committees that are studying this.”
Despite the president’s assertion of executive privilege, Coburn believes that the information will ultimately find its way into the public eye.
“It’s going to eventually be exposed,” predicts Coburn, who is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. “The question is ‘can they put it off until after the election? I suspect that’s why the president issued the executive order.”

Can anyone really be surprised by Obama’s move to silence this affair? After all, why would he spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to sequester his own past unless he had something to hide. Likewise, the DOJ fiasco has his prints all over it, so why would we expect any more clear assistance in helping resolve the Fast and Furious issues. His entire administration has kept things behind closed doors, even though he promised the “most open administration in history”. He cannot be trusted with anything, let alone me or my kids’ future.

Not if we keep them on the defensive with this issue while Bush#42.5 (sorry for the downgrade but you were giving Romney way too much credit) tackles Obama on his economic record and other policy failures.

One thing that the MSM is not reporting or at least connecting. Jamie Zapata’s parents and patrol partner filed suit within the same twenty-four hours that the EP was issued. Early posted one of Grassley’s letters from a year ago.
It appears that they had quite a bit of information before the Dog oops DoJ whitleblowers came forward. If I were Issa and Grassley, I make a very public plea that anyone even remotely involved could work out a “plea deal” NOW but not after it all comes down.

An EO covers the executive branch,it does not apply to the Judicial branch.
In placing the EO Obama ha either used the EO illegally OR admitted that the Executive branch was in cahoots with the judicial branch on F&F.
Either way he has stepped in it bigtime.

As if we weren’t already aware of the bias in liberal media, I’ve found it interesting that when Cindy Sheehan spent the Summer in a ditch outside the Bush ranch in Waco, that was worth a mention in virtually every nightly newscast. However, when Agent Brian Terry’s parents are begging the Obama administration for answers about their son’s death, that barely deserves a mention.
