Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday announced a $20 million partnership between the United States and African nations to boost clean energy projects.

The aid money is part of the United States' contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Energy for All initiative, which was launched last year. United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon announced during this week's Rio+20 U.N. summit on sustainable development that 50 countries have pledged $50 billion to the effort, which aims to double the share of global renewable energy by 2030.

“This initiative is already mobilizing significant action from all sectors of society,” Ban said at the summit, according to Reuters. “Working together, we can provide solutions that drive economic growth, expand equity and reduce the risks of climate change.”

Obama is such a kind and loving president to help the poor Africans clean up their energy. Let's give him another Nobel Prize!

What's $20 million compared to $5 Trillion anyway?

Agree. Oh, I want clean energy. Well, why the hell do I want it? I heard it was better from my teachers. Did you ask them how much more it would cost? Uh, NO. I just thought clean sounded better then dirty.

$20 million, isn’t that about 20 wind mills?

Given DumBO’s administrations propensity for green jobs, going out and collecting gnu pies to burn would be green energy jobs.

Okay, but in a partnership there is bilateral benefit and enrichment.

What are we getting in return?

All I see is that we give money and they take it.
