2 Iranians held as US sees imminent attacks in Kenya

The US Embassy in Kenya yesterday warned of the threat of an imminent attack in Mombasa, a top tourist destination, as Kenyan police arrested two Iranians on suspicion of planning bomb attacks.

“This is to alert all US citizens in Kenya, or planning to travel to Kenya in the near future, that the US Embassy in Nairobi has received information of an imminent threat of a terrorist attack in Mombasa, Kenya,” a statement said.

“All US government travel to Mombasa is suspended until July 1, 2012.”

France's Embassy in Nairobi also warned its citizens to be “extremely vigilant” in Mombasa and the surrounding area.

Top Kenyan police officials immediately made statements calling for calm. “Police are working around the clock to guarantee security in Kenya,” said Kenyan police commissioner Mathew Iteere.

Police spokesman Eric Kiraithe told AFP: “There is no cause for alarm, security agents are ahead of events. We are even working with the FBI and other international agencies in this war.”

The warnings came as Kenyan police said they had detained two Iranian nationals over suspected links to a terror network planning bombings in Mombasa and in the capital Nairobi.

“We are holding these two suspects, and they are being interrogated to establish their involvement in terrorism activities,” said Aggrey Adoli, police chief for Coast province.

I have been around for a long time, and I have never planned on traveling to Kenya. I am 100% sure I never will. I do not like septic tanks, so I will stay away from there.

Gee whiz. Kenya is a threat? Who woulda thunk it?

Oh wait, Chad, Nigeria, Sudan, Somalia, Egypt, Zimbabwe, and many others in the African continent are also a mess. Again, who woulda guessed it?

Seems we didn't send them enough western dollars or volunteer help for frigging decades while the world advanced and they have hardly tried.

Wonder why that entire continent is such a mess? Any ideas? Think Chicago, Detroit, Philly, et al. Yup, I'm a culturalist. Some excel, some prefer handouts.

While I'm at this, my preference is for Asians, even above Caucasians (which is my race). I grew up in an area of SoCal that bordered on whites, blacks, browns, yellows and everything in-between. Guess who advanced the quickest? Yup, the Asians (mostly Japanese). They were studious, gracious, non-threatening, and quick to realize opportunity.

So yes, I'm a culturalist or racist if you prefer, and my favorite race/culture is Asian. Deal with it. I get to say this according to the 1st Amendment.

Travel to Africa or the Middle East should be avoided by all Americans at this time. There are other spots, in the world, to be avoided by Americans as well. The list would be too long to place here. Would not trust the locals if have to travel to any of these regions. Travel smart. Stay close to home or relatives. The world is a dangerous place and sometimes the relatives are as well.

"Obama must be conflicted."

Yup. I'm astounded every day when I hear that Bambi is a black man. Yes, he's half black, but also half white. The race baiters tend to ignore that fact. If you look at the Attorney General he's more white than black. What is their point? Sheesh, got some black blood in you and you're good to go? Is that where we are now?

So you declare you have some Cherokee blood in you as Elizabeth Warren is attempting (1/32 - really?), you are better suited for public office? So being part of a minority makes you special and you know better?

Hey, here's a big announcement, I have been told that I have 1/64 Navajo blood - do the math with my ancestors. Guess that makes me a special case for political office. Or maybe that's Sioux mix, I'm not sure. I doubt it all. But what if? At what point to I get special concession?

I was a huge Herman Cain supporter before his history destroyed him and he is much blacker than Bambi or Hold-outer. I'm also a huge fan of Col. Allen West. Not to mention many black pundits like Thomas Sowell. I simply don't see race with these guys. I see intellect and common sense and their love for the Constitution.

Although I admit above that I prefer the Asian race in general because of their determination, I believe that a genuine Constitutionally motivated black man should occupy the Oval Office for a change, or maybe an Asian or Hispanic.

I just don't see it happening, because most blacks/hispanics tend to vote democrat so they get stuff and won't vote for a Constitutional advocate, much less know how to spell it. Conservative blacks are known as "Uncle Tom"s. Sorry, but that's the truth and we all know it. No one wants to say this stuff, so I will.

If a green alien showed up tomorrow who would restore our basic principles that made this Nation great, I would vote for him/her/it.

So yeah, I'm a culturalist first and possibly a racist second, but give me the best man to restore our Nation no matter his melanin content and I'll vote for him and wish him the best. Deal with it.

"Tribalism"

Exactly. Some cultures exist for tribalism; some cultures exist for individuality which creates productivity. I am too old to make any excuses or parse my words for the lack of determination and self-accountability of the different cultures. If they don't have the strength to make something of themselves after watching a lifetime, I no longer care. Let them die, as long as we don't have to send our children to die for them.

This smells of an Obama plan to ship millions if not billions to Kenya.

I have the strongest feeling Obama will leave America the day he gets kicked out of the Whitehouse and will need a place built with stolen American taxpayer monies.

Well, I have had the dubious "honor" of visiting some other real "garden spots" during my Air Force career, but fortunately, Africa was not one of them.

Two dear friends of mine are leaving there today, more by schedule than as a result of this recent development. They’ve spent the last several weeks teaching in the local Church near Nairobi - matters that addend to civil society with an eye toward the eternal. Liberalism has had its way with Kenya, much as it has here in the States. Would not abandon hope altogether.

At the same time, I’m with you as far as no plans to go there. Why bother when substandard ideas are being ushered in right here at home by our friends in Congress, the media, and public schools?
