If you thought that a formal censure was the most serious punishment Congress could give one of its own members short of expulsion — guess again.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has just proved that, to the folks on Capitol Hill, censure — for all the stern rhetoric involved — is just a joke.

Which is why she just endorsed Rep. Charles Rangel for re-election.

The same Charlie Rangel whom she publicly rebuked in the well of the House of Representatives back in December 2010 for 11 violations of ethics rules.

Why is it that I just can’t shake a hunch that Pelosi is going to come to a sticky end that is of her own doing . . . ? The woman seems driven to do more and more damage; I’d bet that even if Benedict XVI publicly rebuked her or even publicly excommunicated her, she would not flinch. I’d bet that even if Benedict XVI publicly rebuked her or even publicly excommunicated her, she would not flinch.

Like many US Catholics, she has deceived herself into believing she is a "good Catholic" and therefore has some "in" with God when she dies so that whatever harsh judgment might come her way, she will hire some celestial lawyer and avoid Hell (or perhaps the unbiblical concept of 'Purgatory').

Heck, she even kissed the Pope's ring and then probably lit a candle, so in her mind that "covers it" - right?

She has not, now will in her current state, accept Christ as her Savior and submit herself to God's authority and His Word.

When Christ said the path to Heaven was narrow, and that few found it, but the path to Hell was wide, this is precisely what He was talking about.

The Grace of Christ is a free gift; anyone can accept Christ and be saved. But Pelosi will most likely wind up in Hell just like millions of others who were deceived and thought they were somehow covered by a loophole here for there.

There are no loopholes. There is only Christ.

Not only arrest one; she may have other plans for all of us; and just being arrested would only be the beginning. Am deciding if being a lemming is worth it. Lemmings have it easy. Being an eagle is difficult. Am praying to be an eagle that plucks lemmings from the line and carry them to safety. Big ambition. Praying the lemmings don’t turn the shotgun on me or my family. Most of the lemming are enjoying their fate, regretfully.

I am surprised that anyone would even have a thought that Nancy would not endorse Charlie Rangel.

Of course she endorses him. That ethical thing was just a litle bit of political theater. In fatc if anything it helped Charlie in the minds of his constituents.

I don’t know why they keep putting off the ethical trials of Maxine and Jesse Jr., since they could pobably use a boost with their constituents too.

Capitol Hill has as many criminals on it as most prisons.I don’t trust any of them as far as I could toss Wide Load.

Of course not. She's "studied St. Augustine", which is a good argument in favor of the midieval Catholic tradition of the clergy being the only people allowed to read the Bible for fear that lay people might mis-interpret the teachings.
