Maher, Maddow Deny Being Partisan; Can't Name Republican They Agree With

During a heated discussion on Fast & Furious on HBO's "Real Time" where guest panelist Rachel Maddow, of MSNBC, accused Republicans of going after the Obama administration and the Holder Justice Department because they believe it is a conspiracy to install tougher restrictions on gun ownership, and host Bill Maher tried to delegitimize the investigation as political in nature, fellow panelist Nick Gillespie, of Reason, accused them of being the partisans.

Gillespie asked Maddow and Maher, who claim not to be partisan themselves, to name one elected Republican they agree with. The duo could not, instead they said it is not them who have a problem, it is the hyper-partisan Republicans.

"You will always take the side of the Democrat over a Republican," Gillespie told Maddow.

"No I won't. You don't even know me," Maddow said in an attempt to distract from Gillespie's point.

"I've seen your show," he rebutted.

"So, what's a Republican that you pick over a Democrat in an issue?" Gillespie asked.

"That's not a fair question," host Bill Maher said. "If there were Republicans -- you could ask me the same question, I could answer that question twenty years ago but Republicans have changed. I haven't changed. You would probably say the same thing. It is they who have changed, not us."

"Twenty years ago there were Republicans who absolutely were reasonable. They are an extinct species now," Maher added.

"So the important thing is that you're not a partisan," a sarcastic Gillespie responded. "This is my point."

"Yes," Maher said. "Both things can be true. Absolutely."

"You're not partisan, but you will always be against the Republicans," Gillespie said.

I am not parisan. If the other party would simply and completely agree with me, I would support them. That is being non-partisan./Sarcasm

“Yes,” Maher said. “Both things can be true. Absolutely.”

Pure 1984 doublethink. From the novel:

“To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself – that was the ultimate subtlety; consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word ‘doublethink’ involved the use of doublethink.”[2]

I like baseball but now that they allowed Bill Maher to buy part of the New York Mets I have become a New York Yankee fan

Funny the Steinbrenners are Republicans and Yankees are 100 times the franchise the Mets

I don’t care if Maddow, Maher, or any other talking head is partisan. I don’t care if MSNBC calls itself LIBNBC or LEFTNBC and devotes 100% of its programming to lib propaganda. What I don’t like is tv yakkers claiming to be impartial when they have a clear agenda.

And they need to compromise and realize that my position is the right one.

We could always follow the example of the democrats who treated GWB **SO** fairly....

Surprisingly little mention from Michael moore about his messiah having played more golf than GWB did, even though Moore mercilessly pilloried W in the movie that didn’t win the election for them.

Apparently it’s OK for a liberal to play lots of golf while the economy suputters and millions of Americans lose their jobs and homes.

Zell Miller was the last democrat I could agree with on the issues.
Now 99.999999% are insane....morally bankrupt with no redeeming social value.

“You are not only horribly wrong but incredibly stupid to disagree with ME!”

This is the mindset of the racist, heterophoboc, bigoted, mendacious, mean-spirited, misogynistic, Marxist moron Maher.

Maddow? well “she” is simply a delusional dyke dolt and not worth the price of the batteries in "her" vibrator.

Where are the “reasonable” democrats?

They are now almost all Republicans. The truth is that the Democrats have moved so far to the statist Left that their party would be virtually unrecognizable to the likes of John F. Kennedy and Harry Truman.

Today's Democrat Party is instead a coalition of government-employed Progressives, professional Marxist agitators, racial antagonists, angry atheists, homosexual provocateurs, mobbed-up union bullies, irredentist Latino nationalists, entertainment industry lowlifes, hyper-partisan journalists, and tenured university radicals - all egging on an increasingly rootless mass of permanently-dependent refugees from responsibility who believe that their mere existence entitles them to whatever they want regardless of intellect, ability or effort.

They said they were non-PARISIAN, not non-PARTISAN.

The interviewer heard them wrong.

And I agree, they are non-parisian. Neither of them were born or reared in Paris, France.

Mather lacks the balls to admit to what he's become... or as Orwell so aptly explains he's become a victim of extreme doublethink and he's too stupid or indoctrinated to see it...

Mathers's old-think... as are his viewers.
