For a West Virginia Democrat these days, balancing the demands of local and national party politics can induce ideological schizophrenia.
The party controls the governors mansion, both of the states U.S. Senate seats and both houses of the state Legislature, but President Obama is so politically toxic in the Mountaineer State that a jailed felon won nine of the states 55 counties and took 41 percent of the vote in the states Democratic presidential primary last month.
The stark divisions were on display again last week when three of the states top Democrats Sen. Joe Manchin III, Rep. Nick J. Rahall II and Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin revealed that they would be elsewhere when the party convenes in Charlotte, N.C., in September to nominate Mr. Obama for a second term.
Mr. Rahall has said he backs President Obama for re-election, but Mr. Manchin and Mr. Tomblin have not. Mr. Manchin, a former governor who is running for a full six-year term in November, said in a statement that he was focused on bringing people together for the next generation, not the next election.
Tomblin campaign spokesman Chris Stadelman told the Charleston Daily Mail last week that the governor has serious problems with both Gov. Romney and President Obama. The governor feels that his time is best spent working in West Virginia to move our state forward instead of attending a four-day political rally in North Carolina, Mr. Stadelman said.
James A. White, a political scientist at Concord University in Athens, W.Va., said in a telephone interview that the state Democrats reaction reflects that the presidential race in West Virginia is not going to be close, and everybody knows that.

“Obama too toxic for West Virginia Democrats...”
But believing, voting, and working for the same things as him is dandy- the media can cover that up.
“a jailed felon won”
Those Democrats sure seem to love felons, don’t they?

O toxic? That’s fair considering he is death to jobs there and across the country..
Add to that sordid fact, it’s a mystery as to why nobody wants to run with Mitt either, except Huck and Trump..
The GoP could make major gains if they had the brains and willpower and gumption to pull the right levers the next few months. Could? but sadly nothing is guaranteed when it comes to politics.
“Zero is too toxic for the entire country! “
Not so, he is still welcome in most university environments, Latino groups, Globalist community, Community organizing venues and anti-American union strongholds.
But that pretty much covers where he’s welcome.
I might have posted this before, but last year someone offered my friend $25 for a can of “Billy Beer” he has on display. He turned him down.
The fact is the vote for the felon was an ABBO (Any Body But Obama) vote. None of the Democrats that voted knew who the guy was or that he was a felon. All they knew is that they weren’t going to vote for the biggest loser.
When the state that adored John Murtha rejects a Democrat, you know things are looking up.
Obama is QUICKLY losing any friends and support he might have had

Even the “Obama Girl” of YouTube fame in the 2008 Campaign is NOT endorsing Obama this time around. She was on Hannity the other day. She has had to move back in with her parents due to the Economic woes of this nation.
Murtha was from PA.
Doh! I meant Robert Byrd.... thanks! (double face palm)
Looking on ebay, someone is selling a 6 pack for $40.
