and the predominate stance here was that some path to citizenship was the route to go and that latinos would vote GOP because they are Catholic

I hope that everyone learned that Hispanics vote Democrat because the ARE Catholic, not in spite of being Catholic.

Democrats including Obama have always depended on the Catholic vote to help counter the always republican Protestant vote.

So what?

The Republican party must resist identity politics at all costs. Conservative values are identity-neutral: all citizens will benefit from them. If we get into a p*ssing match with the donks to see who can offer the sweetest deal to Hispanics (or blacks, or gays, or one-legged blind dysexic masochist pansexuals), we've already lost.

It is a dire mistake to take a poll of Hispanics regarding Obama and Mitt Romney and to equate that Obama’s recent pandering with respect to illegals ISN’T a factor and then in the same breath say that the ECONOMY is the factor, and that Obama wins on this.

I call Shennanigans, Bullshit and Olly, Olly Oxen-Free! What Horseshit! Complete and utter HORSESHIT!

Tell it like it is. Hispanics are like blacks, and a black President is nearer to their brown color than a whitebread Romney. It is patent racism, plain and tall.

They only care about the color of their brown, law-breaking cousins from down south, and everything else gets colored according to the nearness of color of the president.

I’m done with this - done pandering, appeasing and done walking on tippy toes....try seeing me hire any of you ever again.

Just alike all other free public polls this is FRAUD designed to make those susceptible to manipulation of group dynamics vote a certain way. Besides, its ONLY in polls they say this propaganda. It’s asinine to presume Hispanics are uniform like that other race appears to be. Polls like this show the MSM/Liberal Polling machines prejudice, condescending attitude and insult to Hispanics.

The fundamental issue here is political orientation.

Excluding Cubans, almost 75% of Hispanic Americans consistently vote Socialist.

I'm sure the Black Americans and Palestinian Americans in Detroit list “Jobs” and “Economic Growth” as their top two concerns, also.

But in November, 90% of them will go to the polls and vote Socialist.

McCain and GWB did better than average with Hispanics because of their strong ties to Texas and Arizona.

But the blunt political reality remains...

No matter what the GOP “offers” non-Cuban Hispanics, they will continue to vote Socialist.

This is why putting Rubio on the ticket is useless. obama deviously went around the law already to achieve his end to it’s too late. If Romney really wants to win this thing he needs to bring on some tough advisors and fight obama with everything he’s got. Bring Newt or Santorum on board as VP and go on the campaign trail together and take no prisoners. To hell with the media. Just go out there and FIGHT the devious dirty bastard.

During the last eight decades plus, when have all minority groups NOT supported the Democrats more than the GOP? Where’s the surprise?

Thank you Baby Bush for flooding the USA with millions and millions of Hispanic immigrants, legal and illegal, for an unbroken 8 years. Your kinder, gentler immigration policy make for millions and millions of new Democrat voters.

Thank you Baby Bush for selling out the GOP so your friends could get rich on low-cost unskilled labor.

You are really one to be proud of, Baby Bush. With conservatives like you, who needs socialists?

Other than that, the “CONCENTRATE ON THE ECONOMY” advice for Romney is dead on. People bash him for not taking a strong stand on other issues like his recent failure to condemn Obama’s plan not to deport illegal aliens. Romney had it right. Why risk pissing off some people when you’ve already got the election in the bag if you just hammer away at Obama on the economy.

This is a one issue election — do you want Obama running the US economy for 4 more years?

The answer is “no” for most people. Romney is smart to take Napoleon Bonaparte’s advice, “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake”.

It is a real problem for Romney. I have said all along, that I think demographics now make it impossible for any Republican to ever win in landslide fashion again.

If you want to look for a silver lining, I suppose it is that Obama was doing so poorly in the polls that he had to pull his “amnesty” card out now instead of waiting closer to election day.

As more and more terrible economic news pours in (and it will), and as the euphoria over amnesty dies down a bit in the Hispanic community, this gap should narrow.

The “best” we can hope for at this point is federal collapse, and regional breakup. And that is not a very good “best.”

Worst? Beyond belief. I don’t want to go there.

The average doesn’t mean squat. With those numbers, Romney has Florida wrapped up, and there aren’t enough Hispanics in a couple of those other states to make a difference.

Some polls are garbage to be sure, but why wouldn’t you believe that Obama has a massive lead with Hispanics? History, judged by both polls and actual elections, has proven this to be the case most of the time.

Concentrating on the economy may be the smart thing to do, but this poll says even on the issue of economic growth, Hispanics still favor Obama by 25 points!

What this proves, yet again, is that Hispanics are not natural Republicans or conservatives. They are in fact natural Democrats. The few social issues where Hispanics hold conservative views are easily trumped by other issues. It’s no different than black voters in California helping pass Prop 8 in 2008 even as they voted for Obama.

If a group favors Obama by 20+ points on the economy, where he has been a disaster, then that shows they are a naturally liberal group that wants to vote for the liberal party.

This means that the GOP has truly been the stupid party for allowing decades of pro-Democrat mass immigration. Immigration will transform the US from a center-right to a center-left nation.

But for now, Romney and the GOP can still win if they can boost their share of the white vote by a large enough percentage.

Ah, the “Hispanic” vote. Bought and paid for. Wait until they find out he lies as much as they do.

RE: Wait until they find out he lies as much as they do.

He’s been in office nearly 4 years. If they haven’t find out by now, I guess they never will.
