The More Voters Know About Obama, The Less Support He Has
IBD Editorials ^ | June 25, 2012 | MICHAEL BARONE

Posted on 06/25/2012 5:34:43 PM PDT by Kaslin

As Barack Obama's lead over Mitt Romney in the polls narrows, and his presumed fundraising advantage seems about to become a disadvantage, it's alibi time for some of his backers. His problem, they say, is that some voters don't like him because he's black.

Or they don't like his policies because they don't like having a black president.

So, you see, if you don't like ObamaCare, it's not because it threatens to take away your health insurance, or to deny coverage for some treatments. It's because you don't like black people.

This sort of thing seems to be getting more frequent, or at least more open. As White House Dossier writer Keith Koffler notes, HBO host Bill Maher accused Internet tyro Matt Drudge of being animated by racism because he highlights anti-Obama stories.

MSNBC's Chris Matthews asked former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown if House Chairman Darrell Issa's treatment of Attorney General Eric Holder was "ethnic." Brown agreed, and Matthews said some Republicans "talk down to the president and his friends."

There's an obvious problem with the racism alibi. Barack Obama has run for president before, and he won. Voters in 2008 knew he was black. Most of them voted for him. He carried 28 states and won 365 electoral votes.

Nationwide, he won 53% of the popular vote. That may not sound like a landslide, but it's a higher percentage than any Democratic nominee except Andrew Jackson, Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson.

Democratic national conventions have selected nominees 45 times since 1832. In seven cases, they won more than 53% of the vote. In 37 cases, they won less.

Obama used the Art of Seduction (Google Robert Greene) to get into office...he plans to use the office itself to stay in Office.

Yes...Obama is a liar, a pretender...a crook!

We must thank God each day .

It could have been McCain and Palin that won in ‘08!

“Narrows”? I thought both Gallup (voters) and Rasmussen (likely voters) have Romney ahead.

Obama’s lead? Where? I love Barone, but wonder where he is getting his references.

Hey Mike, I didn’t vote for the First black POTUS either and he was white.

Barone is no better here than your average condescending liberal who makes excuses for blacks voting for blacks. At some point we have to all be treated equally or the left’s plantation mentality will never be put out to pasture. Treating a man like a boy is not a compassionate thing to do Mike. Grow a set for cripes sake.

It is always better for the people if both sides of the isle are desperate. One side of the isle being desperate is not enough anymore, regrettably. It used to work in the past, though in the past the republicans never appeared to be desperate to lead. Now that both sides want to lead there is a hint of desperation. It has not progressed to the level yet where the people can sleep well at night (imho). May it eventually be so, and may those who lead be persons who actually want our nation to survive.

We can tell our children that while they no longer have a nation, they must realize that their parents are true and pure conservatives™

The fact that McCain was the nominee in 2008 shows how sick the Gutless Old Pretenders were back then.

Since Ogabe's election, the TEA Party was formed and is busy rooting out and dispatching the establishment moles who have been undercutting the conservative grassroots movement for decades.

And as a bonus, the National Socialist Democrat Worker's Party with two branches of government and most of the news media in their grasp have exposed and discredited themselves to all but the blindest of partisan hacks.

Letting the Republican Party continue down the road it was on in '08 would have led to extinction. McCain would have been a terrible President and the GOP (and conservatives by association) would have gotten the blame for all the ills that were coming anyway-- thanks to the malfeasance of the two arms of the Ruling Class. Yes, Obama has been far worse. No pain, no gain.

Not only should both sides of the isle be desperate. But both sides of the aisle should be as well. BTW, we're you talking about Hawaii or Manhattan or where, exactly?
