The Obama administration will go ahead with more drilling in Arctic waters, though at a pace that allows for more research before additional permits are granted.
The administration will hold new lease sales for oil companies to drill in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas just north of Alaska, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Tuesday in a conference call with reporters.
But the new leases won't be issued until 2016, allowing more time so that nations bordering the Arctic can identify the region's resources and figure out which areas need to be protected.

Story: But not until 2056.
Yeah. But when he becomes President for Life in 2016, no doubt he will find reasons for further delays. Or his carefully selected stooges in the regulator seats will.
In other news,, Lucy offers to hold football for Charlie Brown again.
Then again, his promises have a half-life measured in days if not hours.
What a convenient choice of year.
The headline is complete CNN BS. The article is the exact opposite of the headline.
In other words, NO DRILLING. This will however have the desired effect of lowering the price of oil a little more just in time for the election.
Gas will be below $3 per gallon before the election. If Obama gets reelected it will be over $5 in less than six months.
I actually think this is part of his plan to bring this country down. Get reelected and drive up the price of gas to $6 per gallon or more. Above $6 the country lasts less than two years before total economic collapse.
In 300 years the income tax rate will be 0% for everyone.
It's hard to believe even Obama and his gang would announcement something that preposterous in an election year.
Nov 7th = Everything Changes.
Well, that’s it.
I’m voting for him.
When preposterous is the only trick you have left in the bag, it serves its purpose. This in no way upsets the core constituency (which is rapidly diminishing, it might be added), and it sort of mollifies the parts of the squishy middle who don’t listen very well anyway.
No actual permits or drilling would ever occur under US auspices. The Russian Federation will drill sideways into the reservoirs and have them pumped dry long before then.
Too little, too late. Nobody believes BO anymore.
That’s the best analysis. Kudos
...though at a pace that allows for more research before additional permits are granted.

Window dressing for the campaign to hide the utter FAILURE of the candidate in the area of energy....to be discarded later by telling us that the research proved drilling was contraindicated.
He’s trying to create the illusion that he’s doing something.
How magnanimous of Emperor 0 , less than 6 months out from a looming bloodbath.
