Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. Takes Mystery Leave of Absence From House
ABC News ^ | June 26, 2012 | RUSSELL GOLDMAN

Posted on 06/26/2012 11:21:37 PM PDT by iowamark

Staffers for Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., son of an African-American icon and the subject of a House ethics investigation, said today they do not know when their boss will return to work after announcing that he has quietly been on a leave for the past two weeks because of "exhaustion."...

"On Sunday, June 10th, Congressman Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. went on a medical leave of absence and is being treated for exhaustion. He asks that you respect his family's privacy. His offices remain open to serve residents of the Second District," read a statement from his office.

Asked if staffers had received any word on Jackson's condition or when he planned to return to work, a spokesman said, "No."

Jackson's Twitter account remained active on Monday, twice posting about the Affordable Care Act, but it was unclear if Jackson had personally sent the messages.

Jackson, a Democrat from Chicago first elected to Congress in 1995, is running for re-election this years. Calls to his campaign to determine the status of his race were not immediately returned.

The House Ethics Committee is investigating allegations that Jackson offered to donate money to then Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's gubernatorial campaign in exchange for the Senate seat vacated by President Obama.

A witness in Blagojevich's 2010 corruption trial linked Nayak to Jackson's alleged attempt to buy Obama's seat from Blagojevich.

Blagojevich was found guilty of corruption and began serving a jail term earlier this year.

Jackson has denied the accusation.

Jackson is also being investigated for allegedly directing Raghuveer Nayak, a political donor and friend, to pay for air fare and travel accommodations for a woman Jackson calls a "social acquaintance."

When does his trial start? When does Maxine Waters’ trial start? Why aren’t these people in jail?

So a guy leaves his job and then asks his boss (the people) to not ask him why he’s not at work.

Got it.

I talked to one of the movers who moved his stuff to D.C. when he was first elected. He said every piece of furniture, including lamps, was white. He also said Jackson was one of the dumbest people he’d ever met.

I’m sure it’s the next thing on Boner’s to do list. I absolutely detest Nancy P with every fiber of my being but if Boner had half her spine all of these things would be over and done with long before now.

Jesse Jackson Jr. is getting his bug out bag ready to flee to somewhere that has no extradition treaty with the U.S. [Brazil?].

People with all white furniture, are putting on a display room...purity of sorts. This is not a place where they function, but simply a show room atmosphere. Drinks are rarely if ever offered in such a room, and you would rarely offer any snacks.

Exhaustion is a rich person’s disease. An ordinary person can’t come into a hospital and say “give me a bed; I’m exhausted.”

Jackson’s father is the Rev. Jesse Jackson, a civil rights leader and one-time presidential candidate.

And the father of a bastard love-child that the Most Holy Reverend conceived with a whore and then covered up, with hush money, for months. I wonder if Jesse Jr. and Dad are sharing Junior’s female “social acquaintance”?

Jackson’s father is the Rev. Jesse Jackson

The Rev. you refer too is not a Rev. He flunked out of divinity school in 1966 and never finished.

Reminds me of an anecdote:

It was the 1960s. My mother was going through a rough time, personally. She went to the doctor, a long time family friend. He told her to slow down a bit, take some naps and just get more rest.

“But, when Francis had the same problem, you told her to take a vacation!”

“Can you afford a vacation?”

Since the answer was, as the doc knew, ‘no’, mom began to take naps.

Expect any day now ‘Triple -J’ picture on milk cartons.

Very best wishes for a speedy, full recovery
If Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has been bitten by the bug, what quicker way to get him back on his feet than a huge get-well card?

John Kass

June 27, 2012

A get-well card for U.S. Rep.Jesse Jackson Jr.?

Exactly. A giant get-well card. He’s gone on leave because, his office says, he’s suffering from exhaustion.

What would be nicer than a card? If the man is in ill health, he deserves our best wishes.

So just stop with your cynicism about Chicago politicians and their antics when their political friends get indicted. Enough with your suspicion when ethics committee investigators start sniffing around, and the politician’s bikini-clad “social acquaintance” is depicted in a photo with a dolphin with a strange gleam in its eye. Enough with all your nagging doubts.

Think of the Jesse Junior Get Well Card as a great big verbal hug. And you can sign it too, if you’re outside WLS studios at State and Lake on Wednesday morning around 8 a.m. and wish to join us in sending Congressman Triple J your peppy, happy thoughts.

Book either drugs 2:1 or a nervous break down (whatever that means) 3:1.

What is it with Chicago politicians and corruption? It goes together like peanut butter and jelly.
