Posted on 06/27/2012 11:01:03 AM PDT by Free ThinkerNY
Mitt Romney campaign representatives will meet with The Washington Post today to seek a formal retraction of its June 21 report that Bain Capital invested in firms that specialized in outsourcing American jobs, POLITICO has learned.
The representatives will meet with executive editor Marcus Brauchli and other senior Post staff at 2 p.m. today at the Post's offices in Washington.
The group intends to argue that the Post's allegations against Bain Capital and the firms in question are either incomplete or inaccurate, sources familiar with the meeting say. Specifically, the group will argue that the Post misinterpreted the SEC filings it examined for its report and failed to adequately account for the support these firms gave to U.S. exports or U.S. businesses through foreign hiring. The campaign raised similar objections to the story prior to its publication.
The group has prepared defenses for each firm mentioned in the Post's article including Chippac, Corporate Software, GT Bicycle, Modus Media, SMTC Corp., and Stream International on a case by case basis.
"The Post's editors take all complaints seriously and are always willing to listen to concerns and look into them," Post spokesperson Kris Coratti told POLITICO, when asked about the meeting. She did not provide any further details.

I am not a great fan of Romneys, but I am glad to see him taking it to the Post.
Bush stood by with his thumbs in his butt while spurious charges were shot at him from every direction, it is nice to see someone shooting back at these DNC sycophants.
How come the dems never seek retractions? Oh that’s right, they don’t have to, since the MSM is in their pocket.
Anyway the retraction will be buried in the classifieds.
They will exchange Romney's Brain for David Broder's Brain ~
And nobody will know the difference!
This seems to be a normal situation with this guy.
Time for a meeting of the GOP-e where they can search about for a Republican candidate.
or maybe Bob Schieffer or Ann Compton.
This is not your father’s (John McCain) campaign......they aren’t taking any crap. Love it.
One thing which cannot be denied is that Romney has as good a quick response team as any I have ever seen.
The meme has been forged.
If there is a retraction, it will take one-half column-inch near the crossword puzzle.
This meme will be repeated ad infinitem, regardless of its veracity.
That’s how the left works.
MIS-REPRESENTATION IS THE TRUTH TO THE LEFT. Liberals can’t tell it straight. It’s an admission of how screwed up in the head they are.
This is so Mitt! “I know it looks like [fill in blank] but let me explain in a couple dozen paragraphs what really happened...”
My first thought was 'what did they do, accuse him of being a conservative?'
Romney is fighting back against leftist smears far more than either McCain or Bush ever did and all you two can do is snipe.
Make that “you three”.
Actually, Bush was kept busy 24/7 attempting to keep the US safe from further attack despite obstacles here and abroad.
Because of those successful efforts on the part of President Bush, Romney has no such threat to deal with so can devote his full energy to these issues which I am glad he is now able to do.
Blessing gay adoptions? Pushing for amnesty for those who commit illegal border incursions?
He doesn't like us, and he doesn't need us, but something that might affect the price of Bain on the market, now that's a real Romney issue.
The idea of the public push by Romney is simply to cast doubt on the original story. The moonbats will believe anything negative about any Republican but the Ind voter and some anti Romney Rep will take pause if they see someone 9Romney) come out fighting against a claim such as was made in the original WP article.
If nothing is said in defense then people will assume it is the truth.
When is Willard going to spend more time fighting for America than he does being concern for his own sagging reputation...
Who cares what they say about him personally...
We have a nation to save...
Bain should buy up the WashPo, chop it into small pieces and feed it to the dogs.
Way to go, Mitt. Stick it to em!
Why didn’t Bush at least defend the troops he sent on those missions when THEY came under attack from Liberals here at home?
They would probably keep it and hire a bunch of people from India to write the articles.
He won every battle with Pelosi over funding to make sure the troops got what they needed.
The Bush team battled back against just about every attempt the MSM made to belittle the military men/women so that the liberals were not able to attack the troops as they had during Vietnam.
This was one thing Bush definitely got RIGHT.
didn’t the guy guy that does the true or false stories for the WaComPost give the outsourcing claim four pinnochios??
I’m shocked /s
