Fox News poll: Voters say neither candidate has plan for economy
Fox News ^ | Wednesday June 27, 2012

In a tight presidential race that both candidates say will turn on the economy, majorities of American voters believe neither has a plan to improve things.

A new Fox News poll released Wednesday shows that by a 14 percentage-point margin, more voters think Barack Obama (41 percent) has a clear plan to improve the economy than think Mitt Romney does (27 percent).  Still, a 53-percent majority says Obama doesn’t have a plan, and a 55-percent majority says Romney doesn’t.

Romney has yet to seal the deal with all his party faithful, as less than half of Republicans (49 percent) think the former Massachusetts governor has a plan to help the economy.  In contrast, nearly three quarters (72 percent) of Democrats say Obama does.

Shortly after taking office Obama said it was up to him to improve the economy, and if he didn’t do so in three years he would be a one-term president.  The new poll asks, “If voters hold Obama accountable on getting the economy on track, do you think he would deserve re-election, or not?”  Voters are split:  48 percent say Obama would deserve another term, while 47 percent disagree.

“Rush yesterday said that warning flags should go up about Team Romney and they should because he truly can lose this thing if he continues to play ‘no core’ Mitt.”

Well, as usual, Rush is right.

Thank you for starting this thread.

Let me see. We know Obama’s plan for the economy is apparently to wreck it, along with the Constitution. - I think Romney at least isn’t a human wrecking ball who hates America.

Answer to question #1: Get over it...WE ARE.

Answer to question #2: No.

Oh and by the way, prepare for incoming from the "Romney-As-GOP-Messiah" crowd. As the GOP-e has been telling us since 1988, "Hey suckers, you'll take what we give you and you WILL like it."

‘Zackly! I’d certainly rather Romney lay out a plan but even if he doesn’t, it beats a calculated (and proven successful) plan for destruction.

Dear Elk:

You are 100% correct.

The contraction will continue until the cycle is complete. The only thing the President can do is position our country to recover/rebuild when it's done (and we haven't hit bottom yet).

With Bambi in the White House, it won't be done. With Romney, we have a glimmer of a chance that it will.

Why send another RINO in to lose to Obama?

Did we learn nothing from 2008?

We did. Unfortunately, none of "our" people is ready for prime time. None has the money, media, or minions to challenge Obama and win. If they did, they would have soundly defeated Mitt in the primaries.

I am a Conservative.

Our only hope is to transform "malleable Mitt" into a true conservative.
Transforming a true conservative into a viable candidate who can take on Obama and win in November is a pipe dream.

So true. Objective November 2012- Get Hussein out. Objective 2016- Replace Romney with a real conservative candidate.

Right on brother. You nailed it. If you don't mind, I think I'll use a shortened form in my tagline.

Conservatives who are not 100% behind Romney are abandoning their conservatism.
Dah? Obama.

That’s why Rush, Levin, Palin, and Reagan, in his grave, support Romney. The grownups will get Romney Elected! It’s Romney vs Obama. Who’s better for America?

Repealing a boatload of regulations is necessary, but not sufficient, to re-starting the US economy.

What is actually necessary is something much more bold than just repudiating the idiotic nonsense of the last four years. We have to unwind some stupidity going clear back to the 1970’s, including some issues with the Federal Reserve.

In short, I hold out no hope as of this point. Everything I see out of Romney indicates to me that he’s Yet Another Harvard Graduate, seeking to cover himself with spoils while telling the rest of us “Sorry, folks, but you didn’t go to an Ivy League school, you’re not one of the club, shut up and enjoy what you’ve got.”

We’re basically screwed. The path from here is forward and down, as pilots like to say when airplanes turn into gliders.

They do NOW. Obama has passed a megawatt tax increase and Romney wants to repeal it. I’d say those are “plans for the economy.”
