Gay rights icon Larry Brinkin has been arrested on charges of child pornography, according to San Francisco police.
Brinkin, 66, best known for fighting for equal rights on behalf of the LGBT community, was booked into San Francisco County Jail on Friday night. He posted bail and was released Saturday, SF Weekly reports.
The San Francisco Police Department seized computers, videos, VHS tapes and a floppy disc from Brinkin and his husband’s home, according to a search warrant obtained by SF Weekly.
Police say Brinkin had exchanged emails that contained pornographic photographs involving children as young as 1-year-old being sodomized or performing oral sex on adult men, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The emails also contain graphic sexual and racist commentary, including, "I loved especially the n---er 2 year old getting nailed," as well as a rant about white supremacy.
The disturbing messages were traced to Brinkin’s IP address, and his name and credit card information are registered with the AOL account, identified as zack3737@aol.com, according to police.
The warrant also notes that the email address is linked to Yahoo discussion groups about the sexual exploitation of children.
Brinkin was a beloved employee of the Human Rights Commission before he retired in 2010 — the Board of Supervisors even once designated the week of Feb. 1 as “Larry Brinkin Week.”
Theresa Sparks, executive director of the commission, said the allegation is “beyond hard to believe.”
“It’s almost incredulous, there’s no way I could believe such a thing,” Sparks told SF Weekly. “He’s always been one of my heroes, and he’s the epitome of a human rights activist — this is [the] man who coined phrases we use in our daily language. I support Larry 100 percent, hopefully it will all come out in the investigation.”
Police have only said they are still investigating the case.

In the sense that all should equally be able to sexually molest children.
It looks like Larry won’t be able to make it to the Pentagon’s big “gay pride” extravaganza.
He’s out on bail. He’ll make it. Maybe his date will be a 5 year old.
Pride in Sodomy. This push by San Francisco for pride in such a degrading, disgusting use of the body is sick and normalizes the dysfunction when they expose children to this nonsense. But it is “for the children” so to say-—like in Ancient Greece and Rome when this behavior was “fine” and “good” and like it is normalized for the boys in Afghanistan today.
We need all Christians to put such “Pride” in sick, dysfunctional behavior BACK in the closet and OUT OF SCHOOLS. We have to quit the sexualization of our children in schools through “Sex Ed” which was founded by Cultural Marxists to destroy the innocence of children in the Latency period—a time which is easy to confuse children about sex and their “orientation”—which is learned.

San Francisco police say Brinkin had pictures of children as young as one performing sexual acts on adult males. These images were found in the email zack3737@AOL.com, which was linked to Brinkin’s IP address. The AOL account was also paid for with Brinkin’s credit card.
Brinkin’s email also allegedly contained graphic and racist comments on the pornography, including: “I loved especially the n**ger 2-year old getting nailed. Hope you’ll continue so I can see what the little blond b**ch is going to get. White Power! White Supremacy! White d**k rules!”
Brinkin, a San Francisco native, retired from a 22-year tenure at the Human Rights Commission in 2010. On the occasion, the Board of Supervisors publicly stated that Brinkin’s “dedication to advance the civil rights of all people has never stopped,” referring to his focus of gay and lesbian equality. The Board of Supervisors also designated the first week of February as “Larry Brinkin Week”.
Brinkin was instrumental in crafting San Francisco’s Equal Benefits Ordinance. According to the ordinance, if an employee’s spouse receives benefits, then an employee’s domestic partner must receive the same coverage.
The Human Rights Commission for 22 years? A week named after him? Beyond sad and pathetic.
Child molesters will suffer a cruel and unusual fate. It’s one of those things that transcends natural law. If you mess with little kids, you will suffer in the worst way possible, and no one will be there to save you.
