Look for a 20% (minimum) loss (2,500 or more points) over the next 30 days!
I'm sorry. I think I know what you mean.
Though, I think I got most of the grief out of my system by now... it was when I was told by a SFC to "shut up, private" when remarking, after the `08 election and before inauguration, when I stated that if Obama was not qualified it was the Army's duty, via their oath to the Constitution, to oust him. It was at that point that I realized, really realized, how worthless an "oath" really is. got out when the enlistment expired and haven't looked back.
The Constitution is meaningless if there is no penalty for violating it.
GWB, who i hate beyond words - is at fault here.
Without his disastrous second term, appointment of Roberts, we never would have had obama in the first place.
Why do you have to attack? And I’m not talking about overturning. If we can great, but you are missing the point. The Supreme Court has completely screwed our nation and constitution over today. We need a new constitution that truly gives powers back to the states.
You need to stop.
I agree. It’s being spun as a win, but in fact most of the main portions of the act were overturned.
About the only thing that survived was Congresses power to tax.
Huh? What got overturned? Only thing I heard was that they couldn’t stop Medicaid payments to the states.
“Are you some sort of retard?”
Perhaps you could express yourself without using the word “retard”. It screams linguistic laziness on your part.
I think that those who say they will not repeal it will not. Those who say they will repeal it might do so. "Might" is better than "won't".
If so, I may be a retard but you are incredibly naive. Looks like we're even.
You have posted retarded things. I have not posted naive things. Therefore we are not even.
0bama care will be repealed. Just make sure to vote in November so that we not only keep the House but increase our majority and most important take the senate back from the rats and get super majority back. Last but not least send that arrogant pos in the white hut packing
When people are being deliberately stupid, dishonest, and obnoxious it is both impractical and immoral to show them any respect.
I think they framed ot that way in order to allow the tyrant Hussein to more easily use the full force of the IRS to enforce payment of the mandate. The IRS will be used as never before (and it’s already bad) to bully ctizens.
Like I said, the Bush hatred on here by you and some others is beginning to sound like the same on the left! Apparently you forgot about vetoing “partial-birth abortion” and keeping us out of the international court, vetoing the fetal stem cells funding, among many things done by GWB. Also please remember Justice Alito and Justice Roberts got also got in under him and his Dad! Did they go left in this decision? Huh? No, they didn’t, did they?
You can go right ahead and bash the Bush’s all you want. Actually, you know you just made my point; you’re beginning to sound like Obama and his left-wingers- “It’s all Bush’s fault! Whaaaa....” However, that won’t make a lot of us forget the good things they did, even if some of you ‘bashers’ have forgotten!
We already have a constitution that truly gives power to the states. The reason you do not understand this is because you are stupid.
The answer is not more RINOs. We’ve voted for RINOs for 20 years, and where has it gotten us? Voting for RINOs is “teaching them to mess with us?” LOL.
Dude, our political view in limited government (et.al.) is completely wrapped by the python and about to let out its last breath. Even if we win in November, nothing changes. A SC that just made a decision based on nothing but wishful thinking will stay in place. A new govt. will be lead by someone who enacted this same thing in his state. The people elected are too damn afraid of what the media and the left says about them, so they’ll end up compromising — we’ll end up just short of what we have today.
I’m playing a rigged game. My opponents have no reason to stop lying, no reason to stop name calling, no reason to stop enriching themselves at my expense because they have more than a sufficient number of idiots who will go along with anything they propose. I can’t play a game where I have to lie and cheat and its impossible to win at that game when your opponents do nothing but that. And we are LONG past any reasonable likelihood that this will change, even IF we could elect people that could stand firm to original constitutional principles.
THE GAME IS OVER. If you want to keep playing, fine. But I’m done. This country is much, much worse off than it was when I became politically active — after me getting almost nothing of what I wanted. UNTIL YOU OR ANYONE ELSE ON HERE COMES UP WITH A WINNABLE STRATEGY, THERE IS NO POINT IN FIGHTING AND GETTING YOUR ASS KICKED 100% OF THE TIME.
I have given a winnable strategy before, but few even on this site are willing to go along with it. It includes at least ALL of the following:
— term limits for ALL elected officials;
— stopping all newspaper subscriptions except those 100% committed to conservative causes (zero that I know about);
— turning off ALL forms of popular culture on TV and internet — stop watching morning shows, evening news, all cable news other than SOME Fox, stop watching Letterman, SNL, etc., stop going to movies, stop buying CDs and downloading PC music;
— ALWAYS vote for the most conservative candidate regardless of individual views;
— stop giving money to institutions that have failed us (Republican party) and start supporting those conservative causes that have worked (numerous, but NRA is one example)
— stop arguing with the left and start ridiculing them
There are others I can’t think of at this point, but I seriously doubt I could get even 25% of FR members to sign on to ALL these ideas.
“I think that those who say they will not repeal it will not. Those who say they will repeal it might do so. “Might” is better than “won’t”.”
I’ll bet used car salesmen love you. They can sell you anything.
You can continue to live in your Polyanna world. I gave that up years ago when I reached adulthood.
Undoubtedly the unions will be like all the Friends Of Obama and Congress and Congressional staff and other parties who have gotten an exemption from this travesty because it’s only good for the peons.
No he’s really that stupid. He things it makes him look smart when he uses words like retard and stupid and attacks those that don’t see it his way.
Romney may say whatever he likes to try to get elected.
But he will punt on Obamacare.
There was a leak but the leak in itself is not critical to the issue. The decision and its ramifications to personal freedom and how we feel the Constitution should be interpreted is the crux of the matter.
IMHO, the law will not be repealed even if the GOP takes the WH and Congress. Too much money and power is at stake for our elected leaders to do the right thing. A so called simplification to single payor is what I feel will eventually happen.
Nonsense. There are many young up-and-coming conservatives in Congress. We just need to get a Senate majority and a GOP President and things will start to change right away.
THE GAME IS OVER. If you want to keep playing, fine. But Im done.
Quitting is for Frenchmen. Americans fight for freedom.
I’m a slave because of his idiot appointment.
I don’t give a **** if you like him, and I don’t give a **** if it bothers you that I don’t.
George W. Bush and his traitorous chief justice can go to Hell.
You do not know more than anyone else whether Romney will keep his word to repeal Obamacare.
You say what you do because you hate Romney more than you love America.
You're either delusional or a longtime e-GOP, kool-aid drinking Romneybot...Romneycare was the damned pattern for 0bamacare, get it? Romneycare is the SOURCE for 0bamacare.
Why in the hell do any of you believe for one damned second that Romney is going to negate his "greatest" achievement?.
Pretzel logic and more idiotic projection from the Mittbots, as usual.
Congress is the key.
Romney-0bama, there's not a spit's worth of difference between the 2 when it comes to this topic of individual mandate.
You have completely lost it here. Time for you to take a time out.
You do not know what I love or what I hate.
So butt out with the personal attacks.
You do not know what I love or what I hate.
So butt out with the personal attacks.
No, I was merely trying to point out to the poster that his comments about “elections having consequences” was a stupid one seeing as how many, if not all of us on FR voted for Bush.
Ergo, we’re all “responsible” for the decision revealed today.
I only used Roberts as an example, since he’s a lightning rod for critcism right now.
You are not making any sense.
We will not repeal Obamacare by spouting off nonsense.
We need to have a plan.
I have stated mine.
I had to dig around to see the vote count on the news sites.. cnn and msnbc.. Funny, if it’s a liberal loss they PLASTER the 5-4 or whatever part to show how close and unfair it was.
Pointing out that your posts are arrogant and illogical and motivated by extreme antipathy toward Romney is not a personal attack.
It is a straightforward, logical observation of fact.
Is this the new Free Republic?

“If George Washington was here he’d slap your face for saying that!”
And Lazamataz replied:
“If George Washington was here, he’d either muster troops for another revolution, or seeing the vast tech superiority possessed by the tyrants, find another country to settle.”
And therein lies the problem.
If there is to be a “coming struggle”, the “pro-federals” can easily crush the “pro-freedoms” by virtue of their superior military and police (think SWAT teams gone wild) powers, plus the overwhelming advantage the pro-feds have by virtue of the extraordinary technological advantages they possess.
I’d like to see a modern-day DC equivalent of “The Battle of Athens” (look that up on YouTube), but realistically, I don’t see that happening for the pro-freedoms, at least not with the same results.
However, Lazamataz’ second assertion may be much more viable. To put it another way, if enough pro-freedoms concentrated themselves into certain territories, it might prove less destructive for the pro-federals to agree to some kind of “parting of the ways” than to face the consequences of crushing the freedom-lovers out of existence. Why not a “Commonwealth of North American States”?
It’s well-know how the ‘rats and the Obama administration have granted “waivers” to certain organizations (labor), and even entire states (wasn’t Nebraska exempted in some way in exchange for Ben Nelson’s vote?) to “opt out” of ObamaCare.
If Romney gets elected (uncertain at this point, and today’s decision doesn’t help), HE (through his administration) will then be able to grant waivers. Why not just offers states the option, on a statewide basis, to simply “opt out” of ObamaCare?
Those that want to stay with it, can do so.
Those that want to be left out, can do so.
And then we’ll see what works, and what doesn’t.
Your plan is to vote for politicians who tell you what you want to hear, but in the end break every promise.
Sounds like a great plan to me.
I can guarantee that you have principles that you have long since given up fighting for. Even if they aren’t readily apparent, they are there.
“John Roberts will go down in infamy as forever tied to the likes of Elena Kagan, Sotomayer, Ginsburg and Breyer.”
Not a chance. They will soon be forgotten.
Off the top of your head, without looking anywhere for reference, can you name the judges who voted in the majority in the Dred Scott decision?
I say we forget all of this apocalyptic talk and get down to the maddeningly slow, incremental business of winning back our freedoms at the ballot box, grass-roots tea party style.
Based on the unanimous ruling on the one area if the Immigration ruling I thought it would be unanimous that it was unconstitutional per the Commerce Clause and IT WAS
Never figured on the TAX ruling—That came from left field
This is one serious snakepit. I’m still reading the 11th Circuits opinion.
As far as I can tell, this is what happened:
Plaintiffs went in front of the 11th circuit court and claimed ACA was unconstitutional on two parts:
The Medicaid expansion
The individual mandate.(based on the commerce clause)
11th Circuit issued its findings:
Medicaid expansion was OK
Individual mandate was not ok(based on the commerce clause)
Government appealed to the USSC
Argued again the the medicaid expansion was OK.
Argued that the mandate was OK under the commerce clause, but additionally argued that it was OK under the taxing power.
USSC issues it’s decision
Throws out Medicaid expansion by making it optional for the states
Agrees that the individual mandate FAILS under the commerce clause
But in a new argument THAT NEVER WAS PART OF THE 11th Circuits case, finds that the individual mandate is proper under Congresses taxing power.
The Supreme Court today basically kicked the can down the road.
Like I said, it’s a snakepit and may take years to sort out, but there is NO WAY it can be said Obamacare was upheld, at least not in toto in the form it existed when passed by Congress.
I guess you can either continue to call the rest of us names or you can join the fight..
You think that you are a cynical quitter because you are wise.
I think that you are a cynical quitter because you are gutless and lazy and selfish.
And here is JRoberts supporter at time of nomination:
Former Senator Fred Dalton Thompson helped to promote Roberts nomination.
If you persist in posting what I believe and don’t believe I will have to reciprocate.
I have no idea what you are trying to say.
Its an easy enough sentence, so if you really don’t understand it, I don’t know why you’re on here.
Takes time to really analyze the decision and its implications
If you were capable of saying something intelligent you would.
You post garbage because you are too stupid to participate in the discussion but too egotistical to just stay silent.
