The real cost will be reflected in coming months, years and decades, as the US economy becomes permanently stagnant and Euro-like (at best). The Land of Lost Oppportunity.

Romney (and Congressional Republican candidates) has been handed the mother of all election issues. It’s up to them now. The incumbent has enacted the largest tax increase in the history of the nation - by many orders of magnitude, the largest.

This is going to be very messy and Obama’s base has been energized, they will show up now to rape the rest of the economy and steal whatever is left when this fallout ends.

Today, there may actually be someone in the U.S. government more hated than Obama. Roberts ought to remember that when he’s sipping his martini tonight.

the real cost will be human
the government will tax us
the government will provide our medical care
the government will decide who gets what medical care bec because it will HAVE to be rationed

the government (except for high officials and those with connections) will quash private individuals from buying or having access to private medical care so it wont be obvious the “haves” can buy something the “have nots” cannot or will not pay for, which is inimical to rasist marxists

welcome to brave new world
and bad times to be under 18 or over 60

How in the world do you ever expect to get the commie and his friends “gone”?

Free and fair elections? By depression victims and sheeple who are more on the dole than off?
the rule of law?
By 2016 what institution do you plan to rely on to get the commie and his friends “gone”?

This is not the first time I have been ashamed of my country (Korea, Vietnam, abandoning our FRiends in their time of need etc., etc.), but it is the most profoundly ashamed of it I have ever been!

SCOTUS has just sanctioned the wholesale rape of ALL Americans.

And, you can bet that Obongo Bozo will move forward at flank speed to impose more of his LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist agenda on all of us!

I now know how someone who has been raped feels!

I’m more convinced than ever that there is a “power” running the world. obama isn’t doing this. He’s simply the face of this change. This ruling is simply another step toward the “new world order”.

The republicans supposedly were convinced the SC would take care of it for them. I don’t buy it. They’re told what to do, too.

This also convinces me obama will be re-elected.

Obama is a mouth piece for an evil algorithm.

He speaks to illegals and how nice we have to be with them, while he does not tell the Mexicans or any one who would care how he gets that money or who he tortures and extort to make nice and bribe them.

It’s nasty divisive politics because he expects the hunger game to orient our hate towards Mexicans.

These people behind curtains and the idiots doing their robot bidding in government are the problem... not each other, and let us remember that this is what the Tparty is all about.

The first thing I did after the printed news on SCOTUS, I turned off all electronic devices...the last thing I wanted to hear is any gloating from the CSer in the whitehouse.

Next up, just thinking, some businesses may come out ahead here, just cancel their health care, pay the fines, and say go find your own Obamacare. Who is going to leave in this economy?

I guess his excellency was right about all things that happen, blame Bush. We got Roberts from GW and Beyer from G the Ist. Last time I want to hear anything from that family on anything, ever.

Someone yesterday noted they saw a T shirt that said: our grand fathers would be shooting by now. That would be correct but they were real americans.

Every vote by the SC over the past week has made me livid, and I don’t think I am going to change my views any time soon about the whole DC establishment. They all have to go.

Problem is Obamacare was passed by Congress and classified as a tax. SCOTUS would be hardpressed to overturn Congress and power for Congress to tax. Otherwise Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid would be illegal under the plaintiff arguements. SCOTUS bascially handed the issue back to Congress and it is up to the GOP to win the elections, take back the Congress and White House and overturn the law. I am disappointed but I can see where the SCOTUS is coming from. GOP must learn to have courage to pass laws in Congress then hide and deferr it to the SCOTUS. Since judges are not beholden to voters, they can decide differently then all other branches of gov.

Romney (and Congressional Republican candidates) has been handed the mother of all election issues.

And, true to form, the GOP-E has managed to nominate the candidate least suited to run with that issue.

“I wonder if collapse is the only way out of the socialist hell the buffoon in the White House is creating for us. “

I look at politics as an analogy to biological systems (see my website in my tag for the model). In this model, Liberalism is just the human form of r-selection in evolutionary ecology. r-selection in nature only thrives when resources are so plentiful that you don’t need to compete to get them. That is why Liberalism grows in successful societies. Plentiful resources.

In nature, as r-selection grows, it will inevitably produce a collapse of an ecosystem (due to producing a lot of organisms designed to graze freely available resources – which eventually aren’t so freely available). This is what we are seeing here.

When there is a collapse, those who survive will be those who produce and compete, successfully. It will favor the Conservatives, instead of those who need government cheese to make it.

There is actually research showing that fear engendering circumstances (such as threat of starvation), will actually make one Conservative, over all measures. So ideology is kind of like muscle tissue. You get a genetic input, but development can be affected by the environment too. The collapse will rather suddenly produce a return to all measures of Conservatism, including societal aversions to gay tolerance, single parenting, gays in the military, disloyalty to nation, immigration, etc.

There is nothing like being confronted by the cold hard reality of having to perform or die, to make one realize that all the Liberal fantasy is bull, work needs to produce reward in a society, and big government is not just like your big brother.

If my analogy to biological systems is correct, a collapse is coming. It is inevitable in nature, and it will be here as well.

I just told my wife that I don’t want to hear some republican congressman on TV telling us what they’re going to do about this. They’re not going to do shit. That haven’t done anything yet to stop him.

We all knew the end was close when he was put in the white house, either by the idiots who voted for him or by the “powers behind the throne” from both parties. Today is just one more step to the end of this nation.

Makes sense to me. The hardest part about the process will be avoiding being bitten or hit by a flailing limb while liberalism is in its death throes.

I think the alternative is stop thinking of the “common welfare” much beyond the boundaries of self, family, close friendships and social groups ie, churches) and maybe your local community

People who are isolated by choice or by chance, and/or in large impersonal urban/suburban settings, better start developing some type of associations and build community ties, or really learn to live as lone wolves overseen by a falsely benevolent big brother government

figure out what we the people can still truly control, and then control it

Money-quote of the day (as usual, from Scalia):

"But if every person comes within the Commerce Clause power of Congress to regulate by the simple reason that he will one day engage in commerce, the idea of a limited Government power is at an end."

Yes, Justice; yes, it is.

The stock market, banks and other institutions just got a guaranteed amount of taxpayer money for more bailouts. Not to mention the insurance companies. Private citizens may be bailing, small businesses may be bailing but it is just Uncle Sugar got a raise time for the rest.

The problem here is the way the commerce clause is being interpreted. We need to scale that back. This whole decision is based on a flawed interpretation. Scalia called it.
