I think he just couldn’t stand the heat. Doesn’t have the conviction. Lack of character. The political pressure was as high as it gets with this ruling.

It was a tail between the legs move on his part.

Could certainly be. The wimp theory might turn out to be the best explanation of all.

180 or so House Repubs stood firm during the Healthcare debate and voted no with some Dems joining them. 41 or so Republican Senators stood together to vote no on the Obamacare nightmare monstrosity. 4 Justices firmly voted no the Constitutionality of the bill. One and only 1 person made the difference in all of this. Thanks Chief Justice. I learned today how difficult it must be for the military to develop a cohesive unit. One person in the unit not doing their job weakens, demoralizes and can ultimately destroy the unit. The strong and committed stand in the face of the battle and bring the victory. The weak lose it for everyone. You said once, Mr. Chief Justice, you would be for the little guy when when the facts supported the little guy. The words ring hollow for sure tonight. You basically turned us over to the enemy and now we must figure out how to escape. Ronald Reagan and George Bush freed millions by standing firm. You have imprisoned 300 million with your vote Mr. Chief Justice.
