Roberts Has No Consecince
6/28/12 | originalbuckeye

Posted on 06/28/2012 7:51:25 PM PDT by originalbuckeye

Has the SCOTUS EVER taken an unConstitutional law and changed the original premise to make it Constitutional? If the new 'wording' (TAX) had been in the original Bill, it NEVER would have passed!

Has this EVER happened? Why didn't they send it back to the House and Senate for a revote? Has the SCOTUS ever been able to order a Tax on the People all by themselves?? What is happening to our once great country? RIP, late, once great USA.

I have no idea. As far as I’m concerned I wish the GOP would just ignore it. Screw it. Obama enforces only the laws he wishes to enforce. We should do the same.

Most of the Supremes decisions of late merely serve to reinforce and expand government power. Kelo?

The original concept of the court being there to defend the constitution and interpret laws based on it has been lost.

And this has been lost because Congress has never impeached a Supreme to maintain the primary goal of the Judicial.

Lots of folks here will jump on you for a vanity like this ...but I think it is a darn good question.

If one recalls they were very specific in presentation that this was NOT A TAX.

Todays ruling does NOT uphold the recorded intent of congress....does it?

Michelle Bachmann was on FoxNews today saying that same thing. The SCOTUS (piss be upon them) had no authority to do what they did. They just did it. Just like Hussein does every illegal thing. He just does it.

A look at the oral argument transcripts shows Roberts almost chanting stating "right" 6 times or more agreeing with Obama's solicitor general.

The transcripts shows that Roberts was going to be a problem...20/20 hindsight and all.

For those that did their homework on John Roberts when Bush nominated this unknown junior judge to the highest court in the land they could have read this little tidbit about his
judicial career. I read it way back then and never trusted the smirking creep from the minute Bush made him the chief justice, while passing over more senior court members.
Roberts is a liberal through and through and will always side with the libs.

John Roberts Helped in Gay Rights Case

Supreme Court nominee John Roberts donated his time to work behind the scenes for gay rights activists – and helped win a decision that’s been hailed as the “single most important positive ruling” for the gay rights movement.

Roberts was a lawyer specializing in appellate work in 1995 when he agreed to help represent the gay rights activists as part of his law firm’s pro bono work.

And when the legality of the DOMA finally gets to the Supreme Court, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Roberts will side with the libs once again to trash marriage and say it’s OK for two sodomites to get “married”. Mark it down.

Roberts should have stepped down from the bench.
He’s on anti-epileptic meds and they cause impairment of his gognitive abilities, slowing of response time, forgetfulness and confusion.
Someone with these symptomes wouldn’t be allowed to drive a car, so why should they be allowed to pass judgement on a case this important.
It was a 4:4 vote with an impaired guy giving the deciding vote.

Is this crazy

The GOP was warning that it was in reality a TAX ( and I would venture some on this site took that tact also )and Obama and the DEMs arguing that it wasn’t

So Roberts says the GOP was right and Obama was wrong so it is constitutional

My brain hurts

How to Demolish obamacare ... First off - Romney, if he is elected - and telling the truth - says he will in his first hour as President - ‘Waive the obamacare requirement for all 50 states - as obama has done already for Nevada). Whatever the Senate/House origins of the obamacare bill it is now officially declared a TAX... Argue for years whether it originated in the House or the Senate... but this argument is not needed... If this obamacare monstrosity is a tax bill says SCOTUS - then Revoking this Tax bill should not take a Congressional Super Majority next term under a Republican President ... rather a simple majority of the U.S. House of Representatives could revoke the taxing authority of the obamacare law... and the Senate could concur with just sixty (60) votes at maximum (or perhaps only 51 votes depending upon how it is handled - maybe in the same way as the original bill - ‘reconciliation’ comes to mind). Then President Romney could sign the House and Senate passed Bill into law revoking the taxing authority of obamacare. The insurance mandate of obamacare would then be dead - having no taxing teeth and it will come to a halt in its cancerous spread. Then the rest of the neutered - dormant obamacare law could be dismantled piece by piece over the next one - two years.

The quote -- "We have awakened a sleeping giant and have instilled in him a terrible resolve" -- is from Japan's Imperial Admiral Yamamoto, who conceived, designed and promoted the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Let's hope Obozocare and the libs suffer the same fate as the Axis powers.

Um, Roe v. Wade was patently unconstitutional on the face of it and was made a constitutional right out of whole cloth by a liberal activist court.

If the word tax was never in Obamacare, you can be sure the words “right to privacy” cited in Roe v. Wade are nowhere to be found in the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

I don’t see any right to an abortion in their, or a right to kill unborn babies or a magic “right to privacy”.

So the answer is yes, since at least 1970, SCOTUS has been making up law at of whole cloth to rule unconstitutional laws as being constitutional.

I was so excited this morning and SO depressed all day. I’ve been almost crying for all these hours since I heard Chief Justice Roberts did this to America. Just unbelievable. I’m just glad I’m getting old. In 2014 they are supposed to enroll me in Medicare. Two years and let’s see what the congress does with those years.....In 2 years I might be a useless non taxpaying individual who is unworthy to get a doctor to see me if I am ill. But the good news is, I’m not 20 years old any more!

I cried off and on yesterday, too. I listened to cuts of Obama telling ‘friendly’ groups that Obamacare was just a start. It would take 5-10 years before they could institute Nationalized Health Care. And the unwashed masses have been ‘educated’ to believe it (and EVERYTHING ELSE most of us work hard for) is a RIGHT.

Jay Leno last night lead off with: "The mandate is Constitutional!”, so we cannot trust the news/entertainment industry to tell the truth. They all received their talking points immediately to not mention the word TAX. No truth in the news/entertainment industry at all anymore. We are so screwed. Our country will not survive this travesty of justice.
