Has the SCOTUS EVER taken an unConstitutional law and changed the original premise to make it Constitutional? If the new 'wording' (TAX) had been in the original Bill, it NEVER would have passed!

The original concept of the court being there to defend the constitution and interpret laws based on it has been lost.
And this has been lost because Congress has never impeached a Supreme to maintain the primary goal of the Judicial.

For those that did their homework on John Roberts when Bush nominated this unknown junior judge to the highest court in the land they could have read this little tidbit about his
judicial career. I read it way back then and never trusted the smirking creep from the minute Bush made him the chief justice, while passing over more senior court members.
Roberts is a liberal through and through and will always side with the libs.

How to Demolish obamacare ... First off - Romney, if he is elected - and telling the truth - says he will in his first hour as President - ‘Waive the obamacare requirement for all 50 states - as obama has done already for Nevada). Whatever the Senate/House origins of the obamacare bill it is now officially declared a TAX... Argue for years whether it originated in the House or the Senate... but this argument is not needed... If this obamacare monstrosity is a tax bill says SCOTUS - then Revoking this Tax bill should not take a Congressional Super Majority next term under a Republican President ... rather a simple majority of the U.S. House of Representatives could revoke the taxing authority of the obamacare law... and the Senate could concur with just sixty (60) votes at maximum (or perhaps only 51 votes depending upon how it is handled - maybe in the same way as the original bill - ‘reconciliation’ comes to mind). Then President Romney could sign the House and Senate passed Bill into law revoking the taxing authority of obamacare. The insurance mandate of obamacare would then be dead - having no taxing teeth and it will come to a halt in its cancerous spread. Then the rest of the neutered - dormant obamacare law could be dismantled piece by piece over the next one - two years.

I do believe that Thomas, Alito, Scalia and maybe even Kennedy fought like hell to try to get the whole thing thrown out. They are to be commended.

Um, Roe v. Wade was patently unconstitutional on the face of it and was made a constitutional right out of whole cloth by a liberal activist court.
If the word tax was never in Obamacare, you can be sure the words “right to privacy” cited in Roe v. Wade are nowhere to be found in the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
I don’t see any right to an abortion in their, or a right to kill unborn babies or a magic “right to privacy”.
So the answer is yes, since at least 1970, SCOTUS has been making up law at of whole cloth to rule unconstitutional laws as being constitutional.
I was so excited this morning and SO depressed all day. I’ve been almost crying for all these hours since I heard Chief Justice Roberts did this to America. Just unbelievable. I’m just glad I’m getting old. In 2014 they are supposed to enroll me in Medicare. Two years and let’s see what the congress does with those years.....In 2 years I might be a useless non taxpaying individual who is unworthy to get a doctor to see me if I am ill. But the good news is, I’m not 20 years old any more!
