Has the SCOTUS EVER taken an unConstitutional law and changed the original premise to make it Constitutional? If the new 'wording' (TAX) had been in the original Bill, it NEVER would have passed!

I don’t think that is a word.

You're wrong. 'that' is a word!

A look at the oral argument transcripts shows Roberts almost chanting stating "right" 6 times or more agreeing with Obama's solicitor general.

The transcripts shows that Roberts was going to be a problem...20/20 hindsight and all.

Please look at all the facts.

Are you emotional about this right now?

For those that did their homework on John Roberts when Bush nominated this unknown junior judge to the highest court in the land they could have read this little tidbit about his
judicial career. I read it way back then and never trusted the smirking creep from the minute Bush made him the chief justice, while passing over more senior court members.
Roberts is a liberal through and through and will always side with the libs.

John Roberts Helped in Gay Rights Case

Supreme Court nominee John Roberts donated his time to work behind the scenes for gay rights activists – and helped win a decision that’s been hailed as the “single most important positive ruling” for the gay rights movement.

Roberts was a lawyer specializing in appellate work in 1995 when he agreed to help represent the gay rights activists as part of his law firm’s pro bono work.

And when the legality of the DOMA finally gets to the Supreme Court, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Roberts will side with the libs once again to trash marriage and say it’s OK for two sodomites to get “married”. Mark it down.

Roberts should have stepped down from the bench.
He’s on anti-epileptic meds and they cause impairment of his gognitive abilities, slowing of response time, forgetfulness and confusion.
Someone with these symptomes wouldn’t be allowed to drive a car, so why should they be allowed to pass judgement on a case this important.
It was a 4:4 vote with an impaired guy giving the deciding vote.

Is this crazy

The GOP was warning that it was in reality a TAX ( and I would venture some on this site took that tact also )and Obama and the DEMs arguing that it wasn’t

So Roberts says the GOP was right and Obama was wrong so it is constitutional

My brain hurts

How to Demolish obamacare ... First off - Romney, if he is elected - and telling the truth - says he will in his first hour as President - ‘Waive the obamacare requirement for all 50 states - as obama has done already for Nevada). Whatever the Senate/House origins of the obamacare bill it is now officially declared a TAX... Argue for years whether it originated in the House or the Senate... but this argument is not needed... If this obamacare monstrosity is a tax bill says SCOTUS - then Revoking this Tax bill should not take a Congressional Super Majority next term under a Republican President ... rather a simple majority of the U.S. House of Representatives could revoke the taxing authority of the obamacare law... and the Senate could concur with just sixty (60) votes at maximum (or perhaps only 51 votes depending upon how it is handled - maybe in the same way as the original bill - ‘reconciliation’ comes to mind). Then President Romney could sign the House and Senate passed Bill into law revoking the taxing authority of obamacare. The insurance mandate of obamacare would then be dead - having no taxing teeth and it will come to a halt in its cancerous spread. Then the rest of the neutered - dormant obamacare law could be dismantled piece by piece over the next one - two years.

I do believe that Thomas, Alito, Scalia and maybe even Kennedy fought like hell to try to get the whole thing thrown out. They are to be commended.

The liberal no nothing lib women and Roberts are the ones who deserve our wrath.

Agreed.

But the result stands.

Brokenhearted . All I can think is that The Lord is still in control and even if we must go through dark times in this life it is nothing compared to what some people are going to go through for eternity! Tonite I pray for them.
