Rand Paul to Supreme Court: Drop dead
los angeles times ^ | June 28th, 2012 | By Sandra Hernandez

Posted on 06/28/2012 8:36:26 PM PDT by Mozilla

TheU.S. Supreme Court’s decision Thursday to uphold all but one part of the 2010 healthcare law produced some strong reactions. Supporters declared victory and opponents vowed to keep fighting. That much was to be expected.

But Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s rant against the high court’s ruling was a surprise of sorts. The physician-turned-elected-official appeared to suggest that the court needs a legal lesson or two.

“Just because a couple people on the Supreme Court declare something to be ‘constitutional’ does not make it so. The whole thing remains unconstitutional,” Paul said in a statement. “While the court may have erroneously come to the conclusion that the law is allowable, it certainly does nothing to make this mandate or government takeover of our healthcare right.”

“Obamacare is wrong for Americans. It will destroy our health care system. This now means we fight every hour, every day until November to elect a new President and a new Senate to repeal Obamacare,” he continued.

Of course now the libs are shocked that people would dare criticize the court. Funny that, they were saying the same thing a couple of days ago, and would be saying worse had 0-care been correctly declared unconstitutional.

What is astounding is that Kennedy wanted to toss the whole legislation, while Roberts saved it. I would have expected Kennedy to try to prop this thing up. The one time we really needed Roberts to come through, he totally failed.

“... a freshman senator declared that just because some people on the Supreme Court weigh in on a legal matter, that doesn’t mean they know what they are doing.”

He is correct...and he is correct in suggesting that ‘one or two’ decided this thing. With the split between ‘conservative’ and ‘communist’ on the court, it will be ‘one or two’ deciding...the swing votes. What we did not expect was that Roberts would be one of the ‘swing’ votes. This is disturbing. He also was erronously on the side of Obama/Holder regarding the Arizona Immigration Law. It will soon be time to flush this turd down into the sewer with the filth he has chosen to be his comrades.

It's worse. The Business Cycle IMHO will not respond to Romney like hitting the gas pedal on a 427 AC Cobra either....

In fact I spoke with a commerical banker recently and what he had to say was sobering. Startup company? They won't touch, go to VC, old time old clients sure, but they are cautious because they are afraid of violating Dodd Frank even though it isn't all filled in, so they don't want to get gigged for what hasn't been written. On top of that all his clients are conserving cash i.e Obamacare and do we get rid of Da-One. So the cash they holding onto of which they should have done in 2006, so their behavior is 5 or 6 yrs late. In his Humble Opinion, it will take 3 years to unwind what he has done if repealed quickly and did not see the economy or business changing behavior until 3 years after Obama...

And that truly sucks...

The USSC has said that government can now tax us for not doing something.

Don’t want to buy a volt? Ok. Here is a tax.
Don’t want to follow Mooochelles eating menu? Ok. Here is a tax.

Roberts has opened the door to being taxed for NOT doing something.

And failed on such a colossal scale. I don't understand it and I'm beyond bummed. I'm definitely not an expert, but it seems this will be so hard, if not impossible, to undo even if we do get the Senate and the Presidency. Beside his recent rulings, did Roberts swing with the lefties prior to this. I remember there was something way back that seemed to disappoint with where he stood on something, but I can't remember what it was.

Lawrence Tribe claims Roberts as his student in the past and predicted yesterday that Roberts would vote to uphold Obamacare, and Rush comments that he was told some time ago that of all the justices to watch, “watch Roberts”.

I am anxious, as a Catholic, to hear how this decision will affect the Catholic case being made in the courts on the assault to religious liberty by Sebelius from her national perch (and Romney, from his past perch in Massachusetts where he incubated an equally offensive effect against religious liberty).

One thing we know, the meme is now to vote for Romney the socialist to save ourselves. LOL!

Exactly. It makes the commerce clause overreach by Congress all the time menial compared to what they could do with the tax code.

Some “conservatives” are saying it’s a “win” because it curbs the power of Congress under the commerce clause but I don’t think they truly understand the power of the tax.

This is TEN TIMES WORSE!

Because both Obama appointments have worked out so well? You stubborn son’s of a gun...wake up please and be pragmatic just this once eh? I was no McCain fan, but we wouldn’t have Obama care if people had turned out for him and the court would be a bit more right of where it is now. Face it, we will never stop the slow drift toward socialism and decline, but maybe we can stave it off and buy ourselves and our kids a better future than we’ll get by just allowing really dangerous ones like Obama to get elected.

I am afraid so, exactly. If it takes another four of Obamao to wake America up, and pitchfork turncoat Republican leadership, who actually LIKE what Romney did in Massachusetts, then I’m all for it.

I can see for myself where our endless desperation has driven us conservatives. It’s led us to endless compliance, cooperation and our nominee gets progressively worse and more leftist every single election. It has to stop.

The traitorous Establishment should then be driven from power to never again hand us a socialist for the top of our own dang ticket, or engage in patsy as McConnell does with his pal, Harry Reid, across the aisel whom he openly refuses, ever, to offend.

Down ticket is our hope.

Frankly, my own opinion is outdated after today. By the time we wake up it is too late already, as conservatives hold no threat whatsoever to the Establishment and after today they will hold even less, because we voters have proven already that we will resist nothing with an (R) branded on it.

Yes, we are much better off with Obama filling two SCOTUS Vacancies during his next Term. Let's see, who will he pick, Hillary Clinton and Chuckie Schumer for starters?

That's the ticket, those two are much more Conservative than Roberts. You might be on to something my FRiend.

...”Has it ever occurred to anyone that all three branches of government, regardless of political “persuasion”, are in cahoots which each other and that all legislative action is merely an exercise in smoke and mirrors to keep the populace thinking that their opinion is being paid attention to?”...

It happens that my hubby is now rereading THE BLUEGRASS CONSPIRACY: KENTUCKY’S PREPPY MAFIA..A TRUE STORY OF DRUGS, GUNS, MONEY AND MURDER written by Sally Denton. This is an incredible alliance in the early 1980s of a situation which began in Kentucky with a rogue cop which ends up with connections between South American governments, Quadaffi and important high officials in the Kentucky government including a presidential candidate. One of the conspiracy players was the closest advisor to the KY governor. It implicates the CIA. I cannot help but think that hidden relationships which exist in our federal government right now are similar to this story. The KY story is very scary in that all of these things can go on undercover for so long. In the end, those who tried to fool the citizens of KY and many others did not turn out well. However, their crimes went on for a long time before judgment set in. This book holds important insights into those who lust for absolute power over the people.

And the damaged done by this decision and Roberts will remain for years.

The next 6 months will quite possibly see the economy collapse as businesses and people scramble to protect their assets.

NO ONE IS GOING TO HIRE ANYONE IF THEY CAN AVOID IT.

It's impossible to hire for a given position when you cannot possibly quantify just how much that position will cost the business in either fines, taxes or *choke* "insurance".

If nothing else, as an American Roberts should have dug a little deeper and support the obvious justification that exists to toss the entire law.

What a disaster for all Americans.

I've been watching businesses scramble for cover over the past 3+ years. Now they will absolutely be damaged from the results of this idiocy. Get ready folks, the ride is just getting started.

So, is this the part where we are supposed to start pretending that a GOP president (particularly, one like Romney) will make a difference?

Every 4 years it comes to that. And whenever a GOP candidate is lucky enough to win the Presidency, he stabs us in the back.

The truth is that if McCain had won in 2008, we would be in about the same situation we are in now.

Both the GOP and the Rats are the sales and marketing staff of the military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us about. The Rats also sell the services of the lawyers and unions.

We are doomed whatever we do. It makes no difference. That’s just the way history always works.

You know, I have already seen someone sincerely make that statement. They argued that women inevitably pay more for health insurance and that this equalized women with men.

Just insane. Aside from being a lie, by that logic one would burn down homes in an attempt to equalize the situation for the homeless.

I don’t understand your reasoning and never will. In case you haven’t noticed, America has awakened. Another four years of Obama and there will be no America. He is already beginning to rule by fiat, ignoring both the house and the senate. Just think what another 4 years would do. If we don’t get rid of obamacare and make the Bush tax cuts permanent in January 2013 the damage to the economy will not be recoverable. Maybe the epitath on your tombstone can read : “American is gone, but I didn’t violate my principles”

” In case you haven’t noticed, America has awakened. “ <<<<

The ones who are awake are the few of us who are not voting ourselves the federal treasury. I don’t believe that number any longer represents a majority vote.

This very situation was designed this way and it took some time (decades) to accomplish it.

To the buying off of most Americans with welfare, food stamps, subsidies, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, and then add on successful balcanization of the races against one another, class warfare, growth of illegal voters, intimidation of legal voters, and the “social justice” meme as the overarching goal of governance.

You have but a wing and a prayer. All of it bet on socialist Republicans who are pudding to reverse anything.

Watch. Only one of us is wrong. I sincerely fantasize that it would be me, but will not bet on hope and change.

I’m mad as hell and will not take the medicine any more.
