Rand Paul to Supreme Court: Drop dead
los angeles times ^ | June 28th, 2012 | By Sandra Hernandez

TheU.S. Supreme Court’s decision Thursday to uphold all but one part of the 2010 healthcare law produced some strong reactions. Supporters declared victory and opponents vowed to keep fighting. That much was to be expected.

But Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s rant against the high court’s ruling was a surprise of sorts. The physician-turned-elected-official appeared to suggest that the court needs a legal lesson or two.

“Just because a couple people on the Supreme Court declare something to be ‘constitutional’ does not make it so. The whole thing remains unconstitutional,” Paul said in a statement. “While the court may have erroneously come to the conclusion that the law is allowable, it certainly does nothing to make this mandate or government takeover of our healthcare right.”

“Obamacare is wrong for Americans. It will destroy our health care system. This now means we fight every hour, every day until November to elect a new President and a new Senate to repeal Obamacare,” he continued.

The USSC has said that government can now tax us for not doing something.

Don’t want to buy a volt? Ok. Here is a tax.
Don’t want to follow Mooochelles eating menu? Ok. Here is a tax.

Roberts has opened the door to being taxed for NOT doing something.

The one time we really needed Roberts to come through, he totally failed.

And failed on such a colossal scale. I don't understand it and I'm beyond bummed. I'm definitely not an expert, but it seems this will be so hard, if not impossible, to undo even if we do get the Senate and the Presidency. Beside his recent rulings, did Roberts swing with the lefties prior to this. I remember there was something way back that seemed to disappoint with where he stood on something, but I can't remember what it was.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that all three branches of government, regardless of political “persuasion”, are in cahoots which each other and that all legislative action is merely an exercise in smoke and mirrors to keep the populace thinking that their opinion is being paid attention to?

Lawrence Tribe claims Roberts as his student in the past and predicted yesterday that Roberts would vote to uphold Obamacare, and Rush comments that he was told some time ago that of all the justices to watch, “watch Roberts”.

I am anxious, as a Catholic, to hear how this decision will affect the Catholic case being made in the courts on the assault to religious liberty by Sebelius from her national perch (and Romney, from his past perch in Massachusetts where he incubated an equally offensive effect against religious liberty).

One thing we know, the meme is now to vote for Romney the socialist to save ourselves. LOL!

Exactly. It makes the commerce clause overreach by Congress all the time menial compared to what they could do with the tax code.

Some “conservatives” are saying it’s a “win” because it curbs the power of Congress under the commerce clause but I don’t think they truly understand the power of the tax.

This is TEN TIMES WORSE!

It has occurred to me. In spades.

My tag is but one example of such an occurrence.

Because both Obama appointments have worked out so well? You stubborn son’s of a gun...wake up please and be pragmatic just this once eh? I was no McCain fan, but we wouldn’t have Obama care if people had turned out for him and the court would be a bit more right of where it is now. Face it, we will never stop the slow drift toward socialism and decline, but maybe we can stave it off and buy ourselves and our kids a better future than we’ll get by just allowing really dangerous ones like Obama to get elected.

So the way to recover from Obama is to make sure he is reelected? We can’t take 4 more years of this.

Damn right. Democrats never give up. Our side has to learn the fight is never over when your opponents are socialist democrats.

Why? Because they will never stop trying to change the country to go socialist.

I am afraid so, exactly. If it takes another four of Obamao to wake America up, and pitchfork turncoat Republican leadership, who actually LIKE what Romney did in Massachusetts, then I’m all for it.

I can see for myself where our endless desperation has driven us conservatives. It’s led us to endless compliance, cooperation and our nominee gets progressively worse and more leftist every single election. It has to stop.

The traitorous Establishment should then be driven from power to never again hand us a socialist for the top of our own dang ticket, or engage in patsy as McConnell does with his pal, Harry Reid, across the aisel whom he openly refuses, ever, to offend.

Down ticket is our hope.

Frankly, my own opinion is outdated after today. By the time we wake up it is too late already, as conservatives hold no threat whatsoever to the Establishment and after today they will hold even less, because we voters have proven already that we will resist nothing with an (R) branded on it.

Tell that to your State legislation! Tell them to assume their Constitutional responsibly to defend our rights and uphold the true Federal Constitution.

Nullify and interpose on our behalf. Defend our rights!

If I was an employer, today I would have quietly gone out to the parking lot to see who had Obama stickers on their cars.

Tomorrow I would start issuing pink slips.

The Supreme Court has become a bad political joke that has nothing to do with the Constitution. I’ve heard enough BS about why Roberts did what he did to plow a thousand acres under with the manure. Roberts is another pop culture clown, another aisle crosser who is selling out this country for pop love.

>”But I'm not going to vote for another RINO so that he can nominate another Roberts, sorry!”<

Yes, we are much better off with Obama filling two SCOTUS Vacancies during his next Term. Let's see, who will he pick, Hillary Clinton and Chuckie Schumer for starters?

That's the ticket, those two are much more Conservative than Roberts. You might be on to something my FRiend.

Please, not until we have a real conservative president to fill the vacancies!

Well then, don't hold your breath: Romney ain't "conservative" except that he'll keep things pretty much the same.
