Maybe it is time for a constitutional amendment to limit time on the Bench. Congress can replace those who are deemed activist from the bench and remove them if they can muster 65 votes in the Senate. This would put a scare into the judges that they better not write law!

Reagan was stabbed in the back by the Democrats in Congress, who refused to fund the enforcement provisions of that amnesty bill after Reagan signed it.

Someone posted a very good reading of the history on that exact bill today, but the above is pretty much common knowledge.
