“going to be Mitt Romney Country,” New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie believes his state will support Mitt Romney’s bid for president as much as he does.
Standing alongside the Republican presidential candidate, Christie told donors at a $50,000-a-plate fundraising dinner on Tuesday night in Woodbridge, N.J., that the state is “going to be Mitt Romney Country,” according to the Boston Herald.

Christie reminded the audience that few politicians endorsed Romney earlier than he did, in October.
“There were many at the time who were still standing on the sidelines, sitting on the fence, waiting for something to hit them, yeah, and I did on behalf of Governor Romney, that’s right,” he said.
Romney called Christie, a potential running mate, “an extraordinary leader.”
“I was really hoping someone would heckle him so I could watch him go to town here, but you know better, don’t you?”
New Jersey went 57 percent Democrat last round...Getting 7 percent to vote Republican will be an uphill battle but one worth trying.
I doubt it but NC, VA, and FL will flip for sure.
I agree. Florida will go to Romney. I live in Tampa which is along the what they call the “I-4 Corridor” which mostly votes Republican and the feedback I’m getting from my clients and my fellow friends&acquaintances it is anybody but zerobama.
I also understand that on east of Florida in the area of Cape Canaveral nickname the Space Coast there is hard feelings against zerobama because he has decimated the space program. Jobs were lost in the space program and has acted as a domino affect with businesses in the Space Coast area.
Florida will go to Romney!
He is a good talker for sure, but he has brought to Virginia a lot of crony capitalism, toll roads, choo choo trains, and voo doo finance. Now he is trying to sell off our seaport. The people here don’t like him anymore for the most part.
Rubio would provide a good bounce, I agree, but it doesn’t change the fact he is unqualified. I honestly think Jindal is the best candidate.
Tell that to the "homies" in Camden and Newark.

While I would like to see that (Martinez is a real conservative), it is not going to happen. Martinez has begged off from consideration due to an ill family member. I suspect she fears being Palinized.
McDonnell is my governor. He and his lieutenant governor worked with the Romney campaign to help ensure that we had only two choices when our primary rolled around. Many Virginians will not forgive that.
Also, I remember seeing McDonnell on Greta’s show, back when Romney was conducting his character assassination campaign against Newt. Greta asked McDonnell if he agreed with Mitt’s allegations, and I saw my governor suddenly start to stammer and choke, and start looking up, down, anywhere but at the camera, and finally he mumbled an indirect endorsement of Mitt’s tactics. He knew he was doing the wrong thing, but he lied for political expediency, and he did a clumsy job of it.
I live in NJ. It would be absolutely shocking to me if Romney won the state. I just can’t see it. The most populated counties are heavy Democrat, and they do turn out to vote.
But I suppose stranger things have happened.
If New Jersey goes Romney it will just be icing on a mega blowout.
My prediction - NJ goes Obama, Florida goes Romney and Romney wins by 3-5% popular vote.
The only states more liberal than New Jersey are (in about this order):

Mexican hispanic, not cuban like Rubio. Florida is important but Cuban Republicans aren’t news. She’d be able to reach out to a lot more hispanics across the country. It is important that the dems do not have a lock on all those states.
Here's the way I see it shaping up here:
Obama Hussein took Florida with about 50.3% and that was before he turned the Space Coast into downtown Detroit.
Rubio is Cuban American, not Mexican, and most of those are squarely GOP - they still understand tyranny when they see it.
Rubio is loathed by the dems and squishy with the pubs - no advantage there
As yet, he has no real cred or experience in National affairs.
Florida is not going to be that close IMO, and I do believe that the O campaign has already written it off - sort of like the GOP writes off NJ, which hasn't gone GOP in I don't know how long.
Not a scientifically valid observation, but anecdotal evidence nonetheless:
You don't see those da** Obama stickers and posters everywhere.
Obama has to deliver on his SW strategy of keeping Ohio, Pa, and a few others and flipping the SW and Midwest states that went to McCain to reach 270.
Of course, Arizona is gone to him.
To me, Ohio is the key.
Pa. would be icing but my former wonderful state is like the virgin at the prom - always flirting and promising more but ultimately brushing you off and leaving you frustrated.
Of course, a win in Pa. would destroy the O, so he will pull out all of the stops to get 110% turnout although it will be harder with the GOP now in control there.
Statistically impossible for ROmney to win NJ.
But CC is doing his part, New Jersey might not bring in EVs, but it IS one of the largest campaign contribution states for GOP Presidential races.

Very enlightening and encouraging analysis there. I really appreciate it. Now, from my FWIW Department:
I have little hope of us getting PA. They have not gone for the GOP Candidate for Prez since 1988. I am confident that this time, however, we will take the following States back from Obama that he took in 2008: VA, NC, IA, and IN. And, according to you, I can add FL to that list. Now......
I think we have a chance at Romney’s home State of Michigan and Scott Walker’s home State of Wisconsin. If we get these two and the five mentioned in the above paragraph, I’ll send B. Hussein a Willie Nelson CD of “Turn Out The Lights; The Party’s Over”.
And I can't stand Romney. Won't vote for him.
If the Republican Party wanted my vote they'd offer up a candidate that would pursue the party's stated planks. With the [in]actions of congress over F&F, the NY-23 incident, and the anointing of Romney I can only guess that they are all about talk and not about action.
(Hell, at least the Dems try to pursue their party-objectives. the Republicans are like a near-dead fish floating on the top of the fish-bowl making pathetic mouth/gill movements from time to time.)
