Border Patrol union blasts DHS instructions to 'run away' & 'hide' from gunmen [O wants cartel in]

Border Patrol agents in Arizona are blasting their bosses for telling them, along with all other Department of Homeland Security employees, to run and hide if they encounter an "active shooter."

It's one thing to tell civilian employees to cower under a desk if a gunman starts spraying fire in a confined area, say members of Tucson Local 2544/National Border Patrol Council, but to give armed law enforcement professionals the same advice is downright insulting. The instructions from DHS come in the form of pamphlets and a mandatory computer tutorial.

“We are now taught in an ‘Active Shooter’ course that if we encounter a shooter in a public place we are to ‘run away’ and ‘hide’" union leader Brandon Judd wrote on the website of 3,300-member union local. “If we are cornered by such a shooter we are to (only as a last resort) become ‘aggressive’ and ‘throw things’ at him or her. We are then advised to ‘call law enforcement’ and wait for their arrival (presumably, while more innocent victims are slaughtered)."

Thanks .... unless I'm missing something, the latest date is 2006.

"Since September 11, 2001, DHS has reported a 41percent increase in arrests along the Texas/Mexico border of Special Interest Aliens," states the report. "From FY2001 to March 2005, 88 percent of Special Interest Alien apprehensions for both the Southwest and Northern borders occurred in Texas."

An increase of 88% from 2001 - 2005 ..... wonder what it's been since?

Cowed and compliant citizens hiding in impotent fear while awaiting their salvation by government troops is pretty much the liberal wet dream.

It’s also the most debased and degraded vision of humanity ever to be articulated.

The stats are there, just need to dig it out fro the CRS reports.

My son tells me in AZ, where he is a BP Agent, that OTMs are remaining steady for the last 4-yrs. Certainly a threat, for sure, but the cartels are an even greater threat as their violence is spilling over into the US.

Think they publish for general consumption the stats every 5-yrs or so, though the data is collected yearly and put into a report to congress. With the Big O’s election and Nappy Pants in charge of DHS, you can bet ANY comprehensive reporting is delayed or slow-rolled because it would go against the story that the border is “as safe as its ever been.”

Why is this a surprise after the full facts of Brian Terry's murder, at the hands of Obama/Holder Regime supplied weapons, was revealed over a year ago? See "Bringing a Bean Bag to a Gunfight" Excerpt:
"Border Patrol Agent Terry and the BORTAC team were under standing orders to always use (“non-lethal”) bean-bag rounds first before using live ammunition. When the smugglers heard the first rounds, they returned fire with real bullets, and Agent Terry was killed in that exchange. Real bullets outperform bean bags every time."
And yet Obama's foes on the Right and in the GOP never bring this up, seeming to themselves voluntarily elect to fight with beanbags. Does anyone doubt that if this occurred under a GOP administration the American people would have heard this repeated every day and at every opportunity?

I can understand the angst of the Border Patrol Agents in being told to run. BUT it is an order and it is good advice.

When you start shooting you will want someone to have your bck. If you kill one of these invaders who do you think will stand behind you.

Your own Government will arrest you and place you in jail. It has happened before. No one has your back, just the opposite, they will throw you to the wolves.

My advice is to spend as much time as you can sitting in your air conditioned Government car, if you see something happening that isn’t right turn the other way, get your check and enjoy life. This is what the CIC wants you to do.

No sense endangering yourself and your career for people who do not appreciate what you are doing.

I don’t understand the motivation for this at all.

All I can think of is that Obama wants to really punish Arizona, by letting drug cartels kill/kidnap Arizona citizens.

Another possibility is that when Obama took the oath of office for the first time, he said “I do solemnly swear, that I will execute” and then he paused for about 5 seconds.

Families of agents shot in Mexico demand answers

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — The families of two federal agents shot more than a year ago on a Mexican highway have renewed their demand that the U.S. government explain the decisions that put them there and answer questions about how guns purchased in the U.S. fell into the hands of their attackers.

The parents of slain Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jaime Zapata joined with the twin sister of agent Victor Avila on Friday in Brownsville to remind the public that the government has not answered their questions.

ACLU teaching illegal aliens how to avoid detection in Arizona

On Monday, within a few hours of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to let stand a key portion of Arizona's immigration law, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) released a video on Youtube offering advice to illegal aliens on how to avoid detection if they found themselves being questioned by law enforcement in Arizona.
