COMMENTARY | Could Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson, a former New Mexico governor, play a spoiler role in the 2012 election, especially out west? Most polls aren't even giving him the benefit of the doubt, failing to include him as an option.
But those polls that do include Johnson find him doing surprisingly well. He could tip the balance in several western swing states like Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico. And with every state mattering, that could be the difference in a close race in 2012.
A poll by the group "We Ask America" released on June 26 in Colorado shows

Has this Johnson fellow signed a Socialized Medicine bill into law on the federal or state level?
“Could Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson, a former New Mexico governor, play a spoiler role in the 2012 election, especially out west?”
If he takes the electoral votes away from Mittens, we will have 4 more years of Dope and Strange. WTF? Are we as stupid as the left says we are? Would things today be anything near as bad if McCain/Paln had won? No. And you know it. You know it...if we don’t push this Marxist/Black Reperation Ahole out of office, we won’t have a chance of surviving his REAL agenda...unbridled, screw America no holds barred with nothing to lose.
Wake up. Hold your nose and vote. Give us a fighting chance to pull ourselves back with a Rino in office. Obama will kill us dead.
How would Gary Johnson spoil anything?
Let's see, he could ruin the chances of a conservative candidate getting elected....no there isn't a conservative candidate, it's not that...,I 'spose he could mess up the political relationship that is so appreciated by all that there is in Washington..., no it can't be that....
It's possible that he could shove us as a nation into socialism if he is too liberal...(you know, those judge appointee's...)
Nope it isn't that....
What is it??
I’m sure little would thrill Johnson and his NM constituents more than being able to reelect Obama.
Notwithstanding our ultra-heavyweight governor's assertion that New Jersey is Romney Country, there are about two chances that Zero won't carry the state, slim and none. So rather than throw my vote away on Romney, I might vote for Johnson. (I'll hold my nose and vote R down-ticket, of course.) If indigo-blue New Jersey might go for Romney, he won't need the votes.
The good news is, he has a large pothead following. Barry better “legalize” marijuana for the non-”medicinal” types before Johnson steals away that voting block.
This freak will take votes from barry
Let’s see....
Anti-war, pro-choice, pro gay marriage, pro drug legalization....
So, whose votes is he gonna take?
He was my favorite governor here, because he vetoed so many spending bills they called him Governor No. But then he got all strange with the drug thing, and his libertine side started to show a little.
I’m not so sure Mittens has much to worry about, as far as losing conservative votes.
If he could then the left will surely help him do it.
IS OBAMA WAITING TO DECLARE HIMSELF THE FIRST MOSLEM PRESIDENT OF THE USA by reverting to Islam if re-elected?
Are you working for the Obama campaign? If so good job comrade! Our Dear Leader is depending on people like you!
Well, that would be “historic”! Barry is going to need his own “history” book by the time he’s outta there. LOL!
Hey, it could happen. The way things are going. Nothing is real.
Would you prefer that we forget the fact that Romney signed a Socialized Medicine bill into law?
OK, that is what I was going to say. After the WOT and election of Obama all the conservative leaning libertarians went back to the GOP or over to the Constitution Party.
Been there, done that!
no he wont..he will be lucky to get half a point
You’re premise that Romney=Obama is false.
He is the only alternative, you’re either For Romney or For Obama. It sounds like you’re For Obama.
So... thank you again Comrade.
The whole world has gone insane. IMHO. Maybe those Mayans really were onto something with their calender.
In part and essentially - YES!
maybe that should be (more) - "some what" or "in some cases"
The problem is that we are not "lock step" like the Liberal left. Secondly, we are not as tightly organized as they are.
--- for example --- WE don't go out and rent buses to pick up people to vote and we don't ask people to vote without documents and forethought...
Anti-war, pro-choice, pro gay marriage, pro drug legalization....
So, whose votes is he gonna take?
You left out that the Libertarian Party Platform has always included a major plank calling for open borders among peaceful and free nations.
The ABOoR crowd is going to be a veritable herd of cats. There won’t be any single spoiler to pull most indies onto his or her bandwagon.
In principle that ought to let out Mexico. Any country that disseminates literature about how to invade the USA isn’t a peaceful neighbor to the USA.
Wow ! Such a GREAT idea.
I'm going to send that one to the DNC. Maybe they can get him to fall for the idea "Hook, Line & Sinker" !
I hope, I hope, I hope.......
Johnson would more likely take away votes from the Obama crowd....esp those upset with him for continuing the conflicts in the Middle East
Johnson may help Mitt more than hurt
I never did claim that Romney is the same as Obama.
I did however, mention that Romney did sign Socialized Medicine into law and that is not something that should be forgotten.
Anti-war, pro-choice, pro gay marriage, pro drug legalization....
Sheesh. Romney, Obama and now Johnson have the same views. We are getting the same person no matter who wins. 2012 is shaping up to be worse than 2008 as far as candidates.
I agree, his fame is is pro-legalization stand. Net loss for Barry.
I didn’t know that Romney was anti-war and pro drug.
“Are we as stupid as the left says we are?”
I doubt you are but there are quite a few that would destroy the country before they would vote for Romney, and call themselves superior to you for doing it. I use the foo word for them.
Great, four more years of Obama. Some conservatives probably want Obama to win so they can whine and complain four more years.
They always seen to focus on our defeats, and downplay our victories.
To paraphrase Andrew Jackson when the Supreme Court ruled against him, the Supreme Court has made it's decision, in Nov. the American People will make it's decision.
We will see which decision has the final say.
I am convincing all my liberal leaning friends who are experiencing obama remorse to vote for johnson to teach obama a lesson on his not legalizing pot.
No. Never heard of him.
That means not very many people have.
He’s certainly no H. Ross Perot.
Between Johnson, the Constitution Party, and Ron Paul write-ins, you can kiss the Paulistinian vote goodbye.
They will never vote for Romney.
It is worse than that, they want truly open borders and to end the Border patrol.
MMIGRATION:
The Issue: We welcome all refugees to our country and condemn the efforts of U.S. officials to create a new Berlin Wall which would keep them captive. We condemn the U.S. governments policy of barring those refugees from our country and preventing Americans from assisting their passage to help them escape tyranny or improve their economic prospects.
The Principle: We hold that human rights should not be denied or abridged on the basis of nationality. Undocumented non-citizens should not be denied the fundamental freedom to labor and to move about unmolested. Furthermore, immigration must not be restricted for reasons of race, religion, political creed, age or sexual preference. We oppose government welfare and resettlement payments to non-citizens just as we oppose government welfare payments to all other persons.
Solutions: We condemn massive roundups of Hispanic Americans and others by the federal government in its hunt for individuals not possessing required government documents. We strongly oppose all measures that punish employers who hire undocumented workers. Such measures repress free enterprise, harass workers, and systematically discourage employers from hiring Hispanics.
Transitional Action: We call for the elimination of all restrictions on immigration, the abolition of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Border Patrol, and a declaration of full amnesty for all people who have entered the country illegally.
Paul Tards are funny.
Makes you wonder for sure.
The Mayans or the Bible, or both?
For a state not a country, which I suspect he is now reconsidering. At least he says he is with our views and not 0vomit.
And as I asked before...
IS OBAMA WAITING TO DECLARE HIMSELF THE FIRST MOSLEM PRESIDENT OF THE USA by reverting to Islam if re-elected?
0vomit has to go. This administration has to go or we’re going to wind up with Moslem laws. Don’t doubt me.
If I’m not mistaken they have already got Moslems in place
where they can get away with it.
“0vomit has to go. This administration has to go or were going to wind up with Moslem laws. Dont doubt me.”
I don’t doubt you and the current Roberts Court would condone Obama’s dictate the everyone in the US convert to Islam.

Really??
You spend a lot of time on FR, yet passed up the primary debates?
Strange.
Maybe they will double dog cross him and withhold it anyway that would serve him right the little traitor
“Would you prefer that we forget the fact that Romney signed a Socialized Medicine bill into law?”
Realising the circumstance under which he “signed” might be worthwhile.
Massachusetts was going to have HC legislation, regardless of what Romney did.
Do you understand “veto override?” The fact was, anything Romney objected to and vetoed was overridden in less than a month.
On April 12, 2006, Governor Mitt Romney signed the health legislation.[19] Romney vetoed eight sections of the health care legislation, including the controversial employer assessment.[20] Romney also vetoed provisions providing dental benefits to poor residents on the Medicaid program, and providing health coverage to senior and disabled legal immigrants not eligible for federal Medicaid.[21] The legislature promptly overrode six of the eight gubernatorial section vetoes, on May 4, 2006, and by mid-June 2006 had overridden the remaining two.[22]

Past it along every chance you get people. So many Romney haters don't know the whole truth about Romney's HC situation. Really pizzes me off.
