ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) - Authorities say a Georgia Tech student shot an intruder who broke into a house near the campus.

Police say the shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at a house near the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Atlanta police Capt. Adam Lee says three male Georgia Tech students were asleep inside their home on Curran Street off 10th Street when an intruder broke through a front window of the house.

Police say Keller had earlier entered a nearby home uninvited

Those journalists can make good money as contortionists. "Entering someone else's home uninvited" = burglary. But why to use one simple word with an equally simple meaning when ten fuzzy words will do?

Hitting him in the chest, first shot, after just waking . . . A+++

However, I’m going to have to give him a “B” for the semester . . . he forgot the “double tap.”

“Why no perp pictures?”

Good point, they failed to identify the perp (i.e., the person defending his house), what type of car he drives, where his parents live, who his parents are, and, of course, they forgot to list his Social Security number.

What is wrong with today’s journalism anyway?

The area surrounding the Tech campus is pretty dangerous.

“I would post “ROFLMAO”. But, too true to be funny.”

Correct, I was only half-joking. There was just a story about a police shooting where they identified each policeman by name, home town (4 of them), and how many years they were on the force (and maybe their pictures, but I don’t remember). The shooting appeared fully justified, yet they felt some really demented need to make all of that public.

They are really, really, SICK people.

Wasn’t dumping on you.....it’s simply sad how contrived and manipulated everything is.

The CBS website crime scene photo is, apparently, bogus. It shows crime scene officers marking/examining at least nine “evidence objects” (cartridge “brass”?) out in the street. Definitely does not fit an indoors single shot scenario...

I knew that - and I agree, it’s despicable.

Well, the perp’s a wreck, and he won’t be doing any ramblin’ for a while, at Georgia Tech or anywhere else...maybe he should consider becoming an engineer!;)
