Doctors Despair Over Obamacare
Big Govt ^ | 7-1-12 | Wm Bigelow

Posted on 07/01/2012 6:31:52 PM PDT by Dysart

The Doctor Patient Medical Association Foundation conducted a faxed survey of random doctors in May 2012. In the survey, it is clearly delineated that the medical system as it is changing is discouraging doctors from practicing. 83% of the doctors said that current changes made them think about quitting, and 90% of them thought the path of the medical field currently was wrong.

They apparently feel that their Hippocratic oaths are being compromised; 61% of them feel that Hippocratic ethics are getting more difficult to practice, which is troubling, since one of the cardinal parts of the oath is the phrase “I will keep them from harm and injustice.”

85% of the doctors surveyed felt that the patient-physician relationship is declining. 37% of the doctors said they were just squeaking by, and 39% said things would get worse over the next five years.

The doctors were virtually unanimous that the government is at fault for medicine being on the wrong track, and feel that corporate medicine is trying to destroy private practice.

I can’t wait to go to an office visit after Obamacare really goes into action in 2014. Naturally, my American trained doctor will have quit a few years earlier. The government payments he was getting were just too little to stay in practice, and he retired.

So now, I’m sitting in a clinic in a “bad” part of town with lots of welfare recipients and the like, waiting to get seen by a Dr. Singh from either India or Bangladesh. Of course, I’ve been waiting over 3 hours so far. The waiting room looks kind of dirty, too.

Yeah, it’s going to be great once Obamacare takes effect in 2014.

My neighbor was a pie eyed liberal new doctor in a local practice. On election night he had a party and sat around with his liberal buddies and talked about their brave new world. You could tell they had no idea what was coming. There was a teacher there and some grad students with me and the founder of the practice where he worked. At the end of the night I and the old doc were pissed and told them what this meant. They looked at us like we were stupid. About 2 months later this guys was cursing his decision. I have laughed at him every time Obama comes up. Some people are just too stupid.

Good doctors will go offshore...the US is making the practice of medicine (at least the kind that is preventative or actually curative) exhorbitantly expensive. I know...my husband already had surgery for something in MEXICO because the FDA doesn’t yet allow it here, yet...they are just getting around to looking at it....(Europe and Canada do allow it also.) Obama care is just MEDICAID expanded to EVERYONE once the cost of medicine skyrockets because of shortages and rationing. And, Medicaid is bankrupt (paid for with tax revenues and the issueance of debtor bonds) Those who can afford it will go elsewhere...and get better care. CONGRESS is the PROBLEM here...they have screwed America with their “programs.”

Death Panels are the liberal’s answer to the SocSec and Medicare financial implosion.

SocSec will work if we can get the life expectancy low enough.

They know not what they have done.

They think it's free. They're confident that the govt will ensure they are provided only the best care for them. Remember that many of these people are young and have never been subjected to govt administered health care delivery such as Medicaid or Mediscare. So they have no frame of reference; just as they support the King even as they're mired in joblessness with little hope for a change. Go figure.

I'm less concerned about the escalating prices than I am about the degraded quality of care that's inevitable as demand skyrockets and scarcity of resources (and supply of providers) rears its ugly head, and no honest or informed person disagrees with that forecast.

Yep, the wealthy in countries with national health care, get first class health care, even if they have to combine it with tourism.

We'll probably have to combine health care with tourism to continue to see our family doctor.

I can see it now, Medical Hotwire.com and Medical Hotels.com!

Practitioners were never asked for their opinions by the dummocraps. The bill was written by Soros think tank wonks in consultation with--among others--lefty doc academics. The AMA went along with it as did big pharma and AARP. They were all bought off.

I was an AMA member when Obamacare passed; I called the AMA that day and spoke to a young woman who was reading from a script. She followed up with a multi-page email (I wish I had saved it) with gobbledy-gook.

I cancelled my membership that day. As mad as I was with their stance on Oblahblah care, I was INCENSED about their beyond dreadful response to me.

Now their latest ploy (via emails that I still get) is that they are fighting O-care...yeccchhh.

Do you have a problem with Indian doctors? Curious to know what that problem is.

for all of those who say Romney is the father of Obamacare, the MD’s of Mass were not pissed off by Romneycare.

also the people of Mass didn’t have their taxes raised to pay for all the other shit.
Hip replacement weren’t taxed, dividend taxes didn’t go up, selling your home never got a new tax etc.
actually the people of Mass are the most fucked by this new law. They got the good and will now get the bad.

Yep...hubby and I have joked in the past about level A, B and C docs. The A docs will definitely retire or flee, as will most of the B docs...that will leave the remainder of the B docs and the C docs. Ouch.

You're exactly right. And soon the "A" level doctors will be pretty much extinct, because who in their right mind would want to go through the extensive training & rigor and years of training, to become a top notch surgeon (brain, heart, pulmonary, general surgeon, etc).

Then where will the ultra rich go?

I live in Rochester, MN home of world famous Mayo Clinic. I remember once seeing a lavishly decked out Boeing 747 Royal Jordanian airliner that brought in King Hussein and 200 or so of family, servants, staff, etc. Often times the Kahler hotel will have entire floors blocked off to accomodate muzzies from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, etc.

Where are the mega rich muzzies going to go once the U.S. loses its top notch physicians & surgeons? I doubt they want to risk their healthcare by going to Canadian or British or French socialized medicine. Who knows, maybe the commie-muslim pig 0dumbo will start to roll back his deathcare once the rich fat cat muzzies start to complain and tell him to go back to the way it used to be!

If we still had a draft, there would have been the experience of military socialized medicine. Having to call for limited appointments, poorly trained enlisted specialists. What made it viable was military discipline and pride. That won’t be part of socialized medicine.

It got worse for me. My long time GP just quit his medical practice, and he’s still a long way from retirement.

Yes there is a significant cultural difference but the Indian physicians that have graduated from American schools still form an alliances with other Indian physicians and only refer patients to Indian colleagues .

The US government has purposely discriminated against white males. The admissions departments of US medical schools focus on diversity as one of the top criteria for admission.

Indian medical schools were set up by the British. They teach classes in English. I have worked with many Indian docs and they are mostly good.

Not so with the Ay-rabs and ones from Pock-e-stahn.
