David Corn has a report out this morning that pushes the continuing attacks on Mitt Romney's tenure at Bain Capital forward not just because of the business it involves — disposing of aborted fetuses — but because it extends the length of time he worked at Bain. According to Securities and Exchange Commission documents, Romney was involved in Bain's investment in a company called Stericycle in late 1999. What did Stericycle do? Well, it was a fast-growing, profitable medical waste company. But it also had some problems, such as getting fined for keeping body parts and dead animals in unmarked containers or exposing workers to tuberculosis. And then there were the fetuses. Romney now describes himself as "adamantly pro-life" now but embraced pro-choice positions on abortion in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Back when Bain was involved with Stericycle, anti-abortion activists have waged a campaign against the company.
But that revelation may not be the most significant part of Corn's report (conservatives who aren't wild about Romney's conservative credentials aren't making much noise now that Romney is the Republican nominee). The most damaging part may be the dates.

David Corn is a flaming Leftist who couldn’t care less about aborted fetuses. This is just another hit piece on Romney, whose spotty record on abortion is one of the reasons that conservatives wanted Santorum.
Corn simply wants conservatives to stay home on election day, which is not going to happen. Unfortunately, this is another “lesser of two evils” election with which conservatives are sadly familiar.
This is a stretch by anybody and David Corn is one of the nastiest liberals, which is saying a lot.
One wonders why you would choose to post a story like this here?

Actually, that’s not what this article says.
It says Stericycle was fined. It doesn’t say it was fined during the period Romney and Bain had in interest in the firm. And it specifically does not say Romney and Bain were fined.
Did Bain run this company, or merely have an investment in it? How large was the investment? Did they have control? How long did their involvement last?
All rather relevant questions in assigning degree of responsibility for whatever happened.
I would also like to point out that while I personally would not be involved in assisting abortionists by disposing of the bodies, doing so it at least an order of magnitude less immoral than actually killing living babies.

One of Sen. John Kerry’s celebrity supporters is ready to pull out all the stops to get him elected. Republicans are shrieking over a suggestion by rocker Moby that Democrats spread gossip about President Bush on the Internet. “No one’s talking about how to keep the other side home on Election Day,” Moby tells us. “It’s a lot easier than you think and it doesn’t cost that much. This election can be won by 200,000 votes.”
Moby suggests that it’s possible to seed doubt among Bush’s far-right supporters on the Web.
“You target his natural constituencies,” says the Grammy-nominated techno-wizard. “For example, you can go on all the pro-life chat rooms and say you’re an outraged right-wing voter and that you know that George Bush drove an ex-girlfriend to an abortion clinic and paid for her to get an abortion.
“Then you go to an anti-immigration Web site chat room and ask, ‘What’s all this about George Bush proposing amnesty for illegal aliens?’”
Moby didn’t claim that he believed the abortion story.
Last month, Bush did propose reforms to immigration policy. But he insisted, “I oppose amnesty, placing undocumented workers on the automatic path to citizenship [because it] perpetuates illegal immigration.”
Republican National Committee spokeswoman Christine Iverson likened Moby’s proposal to “dirty campaign tactics we’re already seeing from John Kerry.”
“His campaign was willing to use these kinds of voter suppression tactics against members of his own party in Iowa and New Hampshire,” Iverson says. “John Kerry is a hypocrite. He pledged to run a clean campaign. Then he uses the lowest form of gutter politics to impugn his opponents, Democratic and Republican. It’s unfortunate but this is probably just the beginning of the kind of tactics we’re going to be seeing from John Kerry in the months to come.”
Kerry spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said, “I doubt that Moby was suggesting anybody suppress the vote. We did not use any dirty tactics against any candidate...”
Any article that starts out by saying effectively that “David Corn says...” can not possibly pass the ‘truthiness’ test, let alone the ‘stink test’.
