Conservative Wonderboy Grows Up, Embraces Obamacare and Philosophy
Atlantic Wire via Yahoo News ^ | 3 July 2012 | Elspeth Reeve

Like so many teenagers, Jonathan Krohn says he cringes when he thinks of some of the deeply uncool things he said when he was 13. Unlike most teenagers, Krohn said those things on camera in a speech at the 2009 Conservative Political Action Conference, making him a YouTube sensation. Now? Krohn tells Politico's Patrick Gavin he's not a conservative anymore. He likes gay marriage and Obamacare. He's going to New York University in the fall. He name drops German philosophers. But his old fans can't accept that he's changed. "Come on, I was thirteen," he told Politico. "I was thirteen."

More than likely the kid has been recruited by a local pedophile.

I think he was, at first, a major target for the left. He was dangerous for them, so they put in a lot of effort into distorting his reality in school.
THEN, while doing so, some liberal homo trapped him in a back room somewhere.

I'll bet his parents are horrified. I also think they know what's happened to their boy, but the money is just too good to pass up, so they won't say anything about it.

It happens in the best of families. Parents must have prayed for patience at some time. Zeitgeist is a mother on the weak minded.

Wow. This dumb kid thinks that labels are just labels, that there is no reason to apply them for any reason other than simple ad hominem or to demonize someone as an extremist.

Now the kid is all starry eyed over crappy German philosophers. That alone will poison his life.

I feel bad for his father, his kid is obviously much, much smarter than his father, who he apparently despises as an extremist spreading “filth”. Huh. I wonder where THAT characterization came from...”filth”.

“When my son was 13 he was a conservative also. Now at 21, he’s more conservative than he was at 13. I win.”

You win for sure - and the US wins!

I can say the same about my two sons, only mine are a bit older than your son.

Also, they still have the same friends from back then - and the vast majority of the friends are conservatives. YAY!

The lefties kept after him for half a decade. I wonder what vile mind games they played on this poor kid before he broke like POW in a Korean prison camp.

I had an exchange with him on twitter yesterday after I commented on a Page Six story with the headline something like: Conservative Kid now swings Left to which I replied, “Conservative kid swings toward where the camera is.” The kid Jonathan swoops in and tells me I am wrong. Then I speculated he must be an attention whore because what kid ends up at the CPAC convention. He denied this emphatically so I did a simple search that produced a 2009 NY Times article that described Jonathan as a “child actor” and his mother as a former actress who now teaches acting.” After confronting Jonathan with these facts he continued to deny that he was just a guy who loves the spotlight.

Seen the headline about the hot summer and this is what global warming looks like?

Yes, well here in the Pacific Northwest our temps are 10 degrees BELOW normal for this time of year. And, actually, since last winter we have had cooler than normal temps.

If it is "global" warming, then shouldn't it be, ya know, "global"? The AGW crowd always gloms onto anything that supports their "theory", and studiously ignore anything that might refute it, like facts.

Most kids get smarter as they get older, sounds like this one is getting dumber with age.

He’s been drinking the koolaid. Should have been drinking the TEA.

I’d wondered what happened to this kid when he just seemed to disappear after so much media exposure. Even Googled him a couple of times, but now it looks like he’s entering that “liberal at 20” phase that most kids go through.

Check back in when you’re 30, Jonathan, or maybe 40.

Phases. At his age I thought Nietszche was pretty hot, too. Wittgenstein will act as an antidote once he figures out what the guy was actually talking about and starts applying it. It takes time.

I'm glad he's decided that parroting an idea isn't the same thing as actually thinking about it. That's a rule that can be very uncomfortable for those for whom life is all about feelings.

I'll bet some of those conservative ideas resurface.

I wouldn't bet against it, you'd clean me out.

I have a daughter as well and when she began dating the boy she is soon to marry, our first question was: Is he a conservative?..... and of course he is or she wouldn't have gone out a second time. His parents are conservatives too! We are very pleased.

Congrats on your sons as well - you are right, the US wins!

On Twitter yesterday Jonathan described his father as "uncharismatic" and said of his mother, "Yes my mother was an actress so what? She supported my acting, so what? She didn't force it on me."

“We are very pleased.”

It makes a difference for sure - and is bound to make family get-togethers more pleasant when talk inevitably turns to politics :-)

I strongly suspect the number of people who change from liberal/progressive ideas to a Conservative belief system dwarfs the alternative. I know many that have made the switch over the years and very few (if any personally) that suddenly woke up one day with stupid lefty thoughts.

I hardly think a pre-teen/teen is really well grounded in political ideas and is subject to what is popular with his peers at the moment.
