McGurn: Chief Justice Roberts Taxes Credibility

The day after the ruling came down, this newspaper carried an article that explained Justice Roberts's decision this way: "By confounding charges that the court is too partisan, the chief justice might have earned sufficient political capital to move to the right during the next term, when the court will likely confront a host of hot-button issues, including affirmative action, gay marriage and the continued vitality of the Voting Rights Act."

If earning "sufficient political capital" is simply a consequence of his ruling, Justice Roberts cannot be blamed. If it was the aim, however, and it led to his voting as chief justice in a way he would not have voted as an associate justice, he has raised rather than resolved questions about the integrity of the Roberts court.

Someone could make a fortune out of selling “Roberts” toilet paper, dartboards, and urinal cakes. Maybe Roberts needs to call Jane Fonda for some advice on how to handle being a traitor.

Roberts is simple to figure out, and weak-minded. He caved to media pressure, headed up by the Obama regime. He will do more of it in the future, because he is a media darling and pop star now. Think of him as the McCain of the Supreme Court. He is a painted turd, and no matter how pretty he looks to some people, he is still a turd stinking up the room.

Its extremely suspicious that the 'accepted rationale' for Roberts goofy opinion was avoidance of exactly what the white house and democrats were warning would happen if he went the other way. How convenient.

the stupid GOP should start running this AD. “If you are uninsured and ahve a job, you now must get insurance - (insert Pelosi about free riders and Obambi making a comment) then tell them this will cost you about $200.00 per month because they think you need the smae coverage as your parents. Tell the president you think this is great and you can’t wait to pay.”
