Romney Didn't Even Last a WEEK.
Barnhardt Capital Management, Inc ^ | Ann Barnhardt

Posted on 07/04/2012 7:19:27 AM PDT by Robert Drobot

As promised, Romney has folded on ObamaCare too, although had I wagered money on the timing, I would have thought that he would have lasted at least a week. But apparently the revenue curve from stupid, imbecilic suckers giving Romney money in the wake of the SCOTUS decision fell off hard enough that the Romney people felt that it served no more purpose to perpetuate the repeal charade.

I hope every single one of you who gave that forked-tongued jackass money feel the full shame and embarrassment of your own gullibility and obtuseness. This slackjawed sentimentalism WILL BE THE DEATH OF ALL OF US. Your rah-rah loyalty to con-artists who wrap themselves in platitudes so that you can have a "team" that makes you feel good about yourself isn't noble or admirable. It is nauseating and disgusting. It is truly sickening to see people elevate false sentiment over truth - all for the sake of a truly shallow SOCIAL EXPERIENCE.

RomneyCare funds abortion with a mere $50 co-pay and forces all people under its control to pay for contraception and sterilization, including the Church in Massachusetts. The reason you never heard anything about this is because Archbishop Sean O'Malley is a slack-jawed idiot who is a Marxist and, like most bishops today, doesn't actually believe in Catholicism. He's just a narcissistic, politicking little shell of a man who is desperate for worldly approval - particularly from other men. Sad but true. Someone needs to say this.

I agree. Tons of people on here trying to make us depressed. They're pretty easy to recognize tho.

Many are using longstanding Freeper handles, and they receive approval for their defeatism, irrationality, and falsehoods all the way from the top.

This seems like something other than a Media Matters plant job.

I think at least some of these posters were once conservatives and have now lost their minds.

Anyone who allows romney to make it out of the convention as the GOP candidate can go to hell.

This place has become an Obama campaign website and it is by design.

The exact form of the design is not readily apparent, but the agenda here is defeating the GOP nominee.

That is what Free Republic now is.

“I believe we as a country are basically finished. The ruling on Obamacare sealed it.”

I think were are more trending towards an event like the implosion of the Soviet Union. A despised, illegitimate and bankrupt central government will eventually collapse, and most of the populace will not care very much or will even be relieved.

The United States government does NOT equal America or Americans. Indeed, it is increasingly hostile and inimical to both. If we continue in the direction we are going, the Washington government will be altered, abolished or implode through sheer economic incompetence, just as happened to the Politburo. America will then be able to draw breath again, with the suffocating, remote bureaucracy off of her face.

"The poster of this "Give up" thread wants you to stay home in despair."

Far from it my friend, Since 1960 I've been a point man for more campaigns than you have fingers. Presently, I'm seventy-two years old, and county central chairman of a 20,000 member contingent of the California American Independent Party.

I have never been a 'give up' person; my son, serving overseas in the United States Marine Corps will attest to that fact.

The GOP convention gavel hasn't closed that event just yet, a lot can still happen there to make Romney tow the line as a common sense Constitutional conservative, and bowing to the interloper isn't on the GOP 'To Do" list ( I hope. ).

This is a 'get your head on straight' wake-up call.

Stop pouting like a girl. Get on the phone to your area convention delegates, and give them an ear full !!!!

FIGHT AT THE CONVENTION FOR AN ACCEPTABLE CANDIDATE!

Get in the real world. It is what it is. Get rid of Obama, and live to fight another day.

I agree with you 100% - Never give up, Never Surrender. This thread and some on it that say it is all over is probably started by trolls.

The minute we give up, the minute we say “it can't be won” is the minute that we step in line with Obama and the Democratic Party's way of thinking.

Today is Independence Day - stand up and defeat Obama. I understand the Romney may not be everyone choice, but that is who we have. It is either him or Obama.

re: Many are using longstanding Freeper handles

I know. Early signup date. I wonder how they manage that? I've done lots of looking at people who sound like shills (maybe I'm boasting, but I do have some experience in teaching writing and editing and I'm sensitive to "voices" in prose) here on FR...and the early sign up dates are a challenge.

I think they may have been taken from FRs no longer with us. Or, who knows, Hostile op research may have even gone back that far. FR is highly effective.

Sometimes you'll find a row of shills with different names posting, and they all have the same signup date! There are several who signed up right after the 2004 defeat of John Kerry. I think that may well be the same person with several personas. IP addresses would solve that.

This thread and the defeatists on it are the new normal for Free Republic.

I don't like it.

I have taken this up at length directly with the site owner, but to no avail.

Optimism and pragmatism have gone out of style around here.

Can’t say that i agree with her 100%, but it is refreshing to read someone who refuses to mince words. Romney doesn’t have a leg to stand on regarding health care, so it is no surprise that he won’t take a stand, or at least he wasn’t able to stand—as Ann put it—for even a whole week.

That said, I will still vote for him over Obama and then DEMAND that Congress keep his big-government, top-down authoritarianism (a gift from his church, by the way) in check.

I confess I did consider sending Romney some money after the SCOTUS fiasco, but thought better of it after I realized that it would only go to fund idiotic, soft-ball advertising (”Obama is a nice guy who’s failed.”) that will not work. Obama is not a nice guy. He is an unrepentant, radical, enemy of the state. He knows exactly what he is doing. Thanks to Roberts, a spineless Congress, an unleashed EPA, and a fat, lazy, cheerleading media, Obama he really may not fail to overthrow this Republic from the inside if he is re-elected.

Barnhardt makes the oft-heard argument that because Romney instituted Romneycare in Massachusetts, he, in effect, is the author of Obamacare and so, Barnhardt alleges, he won't repeal the odious socialization of U.S. medical care. She bases this on the comments of a top Romney aide that said during a TV interview that the mandate tax is not a tax. From this comment, she uses her power to read minds and tells us that Romney has absolutely no intention of repealing Obamacare. I think Ms. Barnhardt makes an unjustified leap here, fueled more by her dislike of Mitt Romney as the GOP presidential candidate than anything Romney has said or done regarding the repeal of Obamacare since the Supreme Court ruling. Like all of us, Barnhardt is entitled to her opinion and her dislike of Romney is shared by many of us - but this is a stretch.

However, I agree that should Romney start making hints that his pledge to repeal Obamacare (or, in reality, sign the bill that repeals it) was anything but solid, he should be replaced as the 2012 GOP presidential nominee. Like most FReepers, I am very wary of Romney ansd well aware of his liberal tendencies. However, unlike some, I won't waste my time calling him names, flapping my wrists and crying that 'America is over', which just helps the left win in November. That doesn't make me a fan of Romney or RINOs, jst someone who isn't ready to replace my hope for the nation with sour, cynical despair that masquerades as political sophistication.
