NC politician accidentally legalises fracking (Democrat Accidentally Votes in the Right Policy)

US politician accidentally legalises fracking A US politician who campaigned against fracking – a controversial form of mining for gas – has accidentally legalised it in her state by pressing the wrong button in a late-night vote.

‘”Oh my gosh,” Ms Carney reportedly said on the assembly floor, after seeing her name flash up in the Republican column on a chamber TV screen after the 11.30pm poll. “It won’t let me change my vote.” The 67-year-old Democrat, who has represented a Mecklenburg County constituency for 10 years, asked Thom Tillis, the Republican House Speaker, to allow her to change her vote, but he declined.

Members are permitted to change their votes only if the overall result is not altered, Mr Tillis happily pointed out. Republicans then used a procedural move to ensure the vote could not be reconsidered.

Ms Carney’s “yes” vote meant the result was 72-47 in favour of the Republican override – precisely the number they required. Without Ms Carney’s vote, the governor’s veto would have been sustained. ‘

And, this from the "outraged" democrats - who conveniently forget how Pelosi and Reid illegally and immorally rammed through the Obamacare "legistlation" a few months ago. "Tell House Speaker Thom Tillis you expect him to act ethically.

Speaker Tillis of Mecklenburg County was the mastermind behind the NC House’s midnight override. After universal condemnation from the state’s newspaper editorials, Tillis bristled and insisted he did nothing wrong. Tillis even told the Charlotte Observer he’d do it again if needed.

Tell Thom Tillis that you expect him and the other House GOP members to act ethically! Add any other message you'd like."

The GOP should have said “If telling your communist friends that you voted “yes” by mistake covers your butt, we don’t have a problem with that.”

After all the cheating the demodummies do over the years, this is poetic justice and thusly deserved. Can’t cheat her way out of that vote. Laughing my butt off.

She shouldn’t worry much. EPA or some other alphabet agency will find a way to back her up on this.

If not that, when the makeup of the govt changes they’ll over turn the law again and so it will go back and forth. Never sticking one way or the other and preserving the turmoil and uncertainty that is the former United States.

Yep. They grow ‘em smart down over the line in Mecklenburg County, so I hear.

Sorry, honey. The General Assembly doesn’t give mulligans. On behalf of the economy of North Carolina, thank you for doing the right thing, no matter how accidentally. Hee hee.
