CPAC's boy wonder swings left (Jonathan Krohn)
Politico ^ | July 2, 2012 | Patrick Gavin

Posted on 07/04/2012 12:01:59 PM PDT by EveningStar

Jonathan Krohn took the political world by storm at 2009’s Conservative Political Action Conference when, at just 13 years old, he delivered an impromptu rallying cry for conservatism that became a viral hit and had some pegging him as a future star of the Republican Party.

Now 17, Krohn — who went on to write a book, “Defining Conservatism,” that was blurbed by the likes of Newt Gingrich and Bill Bennett — still watches that speech from time to time, but it mostly makes him cringe because, well, he’s not a conservative anymore.

Comment from another forum: The intellectual crime here was the right wing elevating this kid to messianic status.

He’ll be back, as soon as he has a job and sees where his taxes go.

The kid never did ANYTHING for America - just rhetoric - and you embrace this rant.

Get your head out of the messianic stratosphere with trying to prove that no one has PROVEN accomplishments FOR AMERICA while you just have your pitiful rant and useless to America The Beautiful.

GO SARAH!

He has that soft, mushy, owlish, know-it-all, arrogant, pre-metrosexual face that appeals only to other liberals.

He has nowhere else to go.

(....thank God).

Your ‘act’ at stupidness doesn’t work w/me and others who KNOW your PDS. So give it up - NO ONE - in the know - is buying it.

“Krohn is bucking the received wisdom that people become more conservative as they get older...”

He’s 17!!!

As Churchill said “If you’re not a liberal when you’re 20 you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative by the time you’re 40 you have no brains”

Time will tell as to whether he has any brains.

Good riddance. The kid was a doofus and fit right into the leftwing’s stereotype of a nerdy Republican.

Krohn made a speech to CPAC that went viral in 2009. He made a few appearances on Fox News after that. Made another speech at CPAC in 2010 that got little attention.

As far as I can tell no one, conservative or liberal, has given this kid a bit of thought since then.

How, then, was the Politico tipped off to his conversion? Most likely Krohn himself got in touch with them to further a possible career path as an “ex-conservative” who bashes the GOP, much like David Brock, David Frum, Andrew Sullivan, Bruce Bartlett, Meghan McCain, et. al.

Krohn will probably be successful duping gullible and stupid liberals now, just as he was good at fooling gullible and stupid conservatives in 2009.

He admits the first thing to go was his social conservatism, from there everything else was easy. Sounds like todays republican party.

I love his liberal glasses btw. No one can wear them without becoming a liberal. :0
