Media Skip 2,000th Afghan War Death On Obama's Watch

Media Bias: The latest incident of Afghan forces firing on NATO troops underscores the lack of media attention to an important milestone and the fact that most Afghan casualties have occurred on this president's watch.

We don't expect an apology from the Afghan government of Mohammed Karzai for the latest incident of green-on-blue violence, in which members of the Afghan security force turn on their NATO allies.

But we marvel at the media's relative indifference to things that would be screaming headlines if they happened on the watch of President George W. Bush.

On Tuesday, an Afghan soldier opened fire on a group of American troops, wounding five of them in Wardak province in eastern Afghanistan. It was the second such gunning in three days. On Sunday, an Afghan policeman shot and killed three British soldiers.

There have been dozens of such incidents this year, costing the lives of 26 NATO soldiers.

When a U.S. soldier inexplicably ran amok and killed 16 Afghan civilians, it received widespread coverage and prompted an apology from President Obama. "I am deeply saddened by the reported killing and wounding of Afghan civilians," he said in a statement. "I offer my condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and to the people of Afghanistan, who have endured too much violence and suffering."

No apologies have been forthcoming from the Afghan side for the wounding and killing of NATO and U.S. troops by "friendly fire." Nor has there been any attention paid to this fact by major media that have also ignored factoids they did not ignore under the prior administration.

And the 38 Navy SEALs killed in one helicopter crash was the largest American death toll in a single event of the entire Afghanistan war.

There has to be a way to lay this in Dubya’s lap, isn't there?

We've had triple the number of deaths year to year in Afghanistan since the Kenyan Kommie took office.

So? Who cares says the MSM.

The Left considers our men & women in uniform nothing more than props, to be brought out on those occasions when they are politically useful, but otherwise stuck backstage to collect dust.

I utterly despise leftists.

Oh I remember when I was in college and on the 1000th death in Iraq the leftists brought a 1000 little coffins to our school to protest the “evil Bush regime.” Now that their boy is in there they don’t say a word, funny how that works.

I'm with you on that, skeeter.

Maybe one day we’ll have a more meaningful alternative to ‘barking at the moon’, if God still favors America.

Didn't PBS nightly news show something like ten pictures of the soldiers that died that day in Iran every broadcast?

The nightly body count ended promptly upon Obama’s inauguration.

Here is a treat for all of you to look for in the future. After Romney is elected, see how many days it takes for the MSM to talk about the “economic depression” and “Romney’s depression”. Watch the nightly unemployment count, bank failures, business failures.

There is going to be an avalanche of catastrophic nightly business news beginning the day after Romney is inaugurated. It is going to be ugly.
