President Obama made two surprise stops this afternoon as his campaign bus tour made its way through northern Ohio.
Heading to Sandusky, the president dropped in on diners at the Kozy Corners Family Restaurant in Oak Harbor, where he mingled with local residents and ordered himself a burger.
On his way in, he met a little boy in the parking lot and couldn't help complimenting his spiky blue hair.
"I like that hair, man. I was thinking of getting some hair just like it," Obama said, according to pool reports. "What do you put in there to make it spiky? Product?"
Encouraged by his parents, the boy reportedly shook the president's hand.
Obama, accompanied by former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, then headed inside, where he was met with cheers and applause.
The president glad-handed his way through the dining room, saying hello to several elderly customers, chit-chatting with a young girl and, of course, cradling a baby.
One young girl showed the president her sketchbook. "You're very talented," he said as he flipped through the pages, before inscribing it "dream big dreams."
The president also stopped to talk with a group of white-haired women, who told him they have played pinochle together for decades.
"Tell the truth, the national press is here," the president joked. "Are you playing for money?"
The ladies confessed that they occasionally play for a dollar or a quarter. "I'm not going to take you on, especially now that I know you play for money," Obama quipped.

Oh, man! Thank you! I was starting to crave kielbasa just before they decided to eat lunch. That was one good ‘blast from the past’ and laugh.

I remember when I was a kid some guy called in the radio show and was unintelligible. The radio host Kept asking “What are you doing? I cant understand you. are you eating something? What are you doing sir?
After some time the fellow became clear in his delivery and declared he was “eatin’ Kielbasi and drinkin’ whiskey”

LOL. I know I have both pierogies and kielbasa in my freezer. Mr. Jingeling, Jungle Larry, Romper Room, (drunken) Barneby- those were some good times as a kid. I think Dorthy Fuldheim might have given me an interest in politics though. Boy could she rant.

I wonder if he had to go to Ziggy’s because Hot Dog Heaven wouldn’t have him. They’ve been spot lighted on The Food Network multiple times, but what I’ve known of the owner is he’s seemed a conservative. Amherst is a pretty small town. (Graduate, class of ‘76.) My mom got his secret chili recipe when she retired school teaching. It’s in a laminated envelope. Mine, all mine, when she kicks ;)

No wonder the woman could capture my attention when I was 4-5 years old. As for the second video, Joel Rose and I did some pilot training together. There was a sad story.
She got recorded into the Congressional record for that rant.

Maybe she’s the reason I got a dirt bike for my 12th birthday back in 1971 and a street bike when I was 18. I was just telling my daughter yesterday how funny it was when I’d take off my helmet and get the exclamation, “you’re a girl!”
Seriously though, even as a child, I could tell partisan politics and she always seemed to try to find the truth of a matter. I actually appreciated that for as old as she was, they let her have her rants. And I stopped watching her after about 6 years old when we moved.
