I can't believe this. Obama is NOT winning a single group he lost in 2008 and he is NOT doing better with any group (not even Blacks)that he won last time. I guess Rasmussen must be talking to Martians.

Only 6% undecided. That’s encouraging.

I guess the only remaining question is exactly HOW are the Clintons and the DNC gonna toss him under the bus before the Convention?

This proves once the old bugaboo of pocketbook issues come to the forefront, it sinks President Obama like a ship taking a direct hit from a well-aimed torpedo.

i believe it....Romney fights in dribs and drabs- he doesn’t bludgeon obama over the head on a daily basis the way it should be done...

i’ve given Romney credit for fighting back somewhat versus the bend over and take it strategy of mclame four years ago, but thus far Romney has been timid fighting against the four year failure that is his opponent...

Romney best start making his case soon....people do not want obama...

Romney’s not a much of a candidate, but it’s amazing Obama still has so much support. Look at the mess this country is in.

Obama is a cult messiah figure for a very large amount of people in this country.

We are essentially living in a cult of personality and too few are willing to admit it.

There’s the “Black-Magic Number” once again......44%

Pretty much the high water mark for Hussein and the kiss of death.

“...Mitt Romney attracting 46% of the vote, while President Obama earns 44%.”

I simply do not trust polls, but if those numbers are anywhere near the truth, I can’t see Romney winning.

If Romney doesn’t catch fire very soon, present new and bold ideas, and go after Obama, he is wasting everybody’s time.

Romney needs the votes of folks that can’t stand him (I am one of those), yet he seemingly refuses to give folks a reason to consider him. There is no vision, there is no excitement and there is no clear plan. Simply saying that he is going to fix sh!t just isn’t enough.

I hate Obama’s guts with everything I have within me. I truly believe that if Obama wins another 4 years, he and the dems will finish us off... but Romney shouldn’t count on that sentiment as being enough. He actually has to work at winning it.

To me, it seems as if Romney is simply running out the clock... I do not believe that will work against Obama.

I would have voted for Newt.

Folks need to settle down.

Romney will win, and he’ll win with the boring campaign he’s running... why?

SIMPLE

This election isn’t about ROMNEY, its about OBAMA.. this election is a referendum on OBAMA, and when you dig into the numbers he’s got zero chance of winning re-election.

Obama is viewed as extreme by 47% of the electorate vs 31% viewing Romney as extreme.. that right there tells you that Romney is going to win and win big.

Obamas only prayer at re-election was to paint his oponent as extreme and scaryier than 4 more years of him will be, and its just not happening nor will it happen.

He can’t top 42-43% of the vote if he handles everything perfectly.

I know we all want to see the republic tear Obama apart and have a strong ideological debate, but Romney isn’t going to do that, he’s just going to run a quiet safe campaign, and watch Obama continue to hang himself.

Romney doesn’t have to “catch fire”... the fire that’s burning is the revulsion with Obama, and its burning brigheter every day. Most folks who are going to vote for Romney aren’t going to do it because they are on fire for the guy, they are going to do it because he’s not Obama. Just like Obama won because most of the folks (with the exceptiosn of blacks and guilty white liberals) voted for him because they were on fire against Bush.

We are looking at a real possibility of a McGovern type election folks where the democrat won’t even pull 40% of the vote.

If Zero were a white guy his support would be in the low 30’s. The stoner slackers cannot let go of their rock star without a voice.

I would have prefered Newt personally as well because I know he would have take the ideological battle to Obama.. but that’s not what we got.

And yes Romney certainly can run out the clock on Obama, and even with that boring strategy he’ll win by 12-15 points or more.

Cause that's the plan. Sit back and be the pleasant, smiling white guy. Don't do anything stupid or controversial, just sit back and wait for Obama to implode.

Exactly. The mild internal movement is gas noise.

I believe you are correct. Romney is following the same strategy that worked well for him during the primaries.

He’ll bait Obama into wasting all his ammunition too early and will then proceed to unleash a massive attack from multiple fronts in the weeks leading up to the vote.

An ideological battle at this point would be a diversion. It’s much better to let the bad economic news dominate the headlines. They are essentially free attack ads against Obama.

Watch the Rasmussen poll over the next 3 days because Romney will be racking up additional points onto his lead. Why? The very bad employment numbers will begin to resonate with more and more people. Sometimes it just takes awhile for the memo to get around to everyone. At the end of July will come the 2nd quarter GDP Report and Obama will take another leg down. This is going to be fun.

“Romney best start making his case soon....people do not want obama...”

Remember, when Romney comes off of vacation, Obama goes on vacation. That’s when the gloves come off. A President during the worst depression since 1929 is chilling out at the Vineyard while people are starving and unemployed.

Makes for a good backdrop for the fall.

Perhaps you will be right, but I am not sold.

122 more painful days and we may know how this ends.
