Illegal immigrants in France can no longer be held in police custody simply for not having residency papers, the countrys highest court ruled on Thursday.
Until now, police could detain sans-papiers [without papers, the French term for illegal aliens] even if they had not committed a crime.

If the police can’t detain them..how the hell do you deport them? I guess the French want the rest of W.Africa to inhabit France.

It’s not as if the illegal immigrants were going anywhere anyway.
Thanks george76.

Isn’t it interesting that so many countries seem to be doing this. I’m sure it pleases the UN very much. Is one world gov’t already here?

It must be yet another mark of that peculiar Gallic sensibility that living in the country illegally is not... er... illegal.

We can plainly see whats happening across the pond our politicians are not with us on this and need to be schooled by us. Changing the presidency is a good start but it must also be changed at the local levels on up. The cancer we see is being avoided by our elected officials

Offtopic-—but need to vent.
CBS-News did a segment on the millions of working class families owing college loans-—this family owed $80,000 which will entail them paying $1000 a month til the end of time, what with interest, etc.
The kicker was CBS reporter “Elena (Quiano) Mexicano” was doing the story—— probably an illegal who was educated, housed, and fed on the backs of the working class-—and now-—after sucking off the working class——she takes a high-paid media job away from an American.
These people’s sense of entitlement is nauseating.
CBS needs to hear our outrage.

H/T Army Air Corps for the Ping and George76 for the post.
The entire country of France has now become a sanctuary country.
Remember, when the French talk about "ultra liberal" as they do in this article, liberal in Europe has a completely different meaning: it means Anglo-Saxon style free market capitalism.
