i don’t agree that people are dumbed down compared to 1980- many have the same stupid opinions but due to limited resources such as no internet or cable news, there was no place for them to voice their stupid opinions nationally, never mind globally...vietnam war protesters??? george mcgovern???

today we have places like Fox News, Free Republic, Drudge, etc that expose what the left is doing- it wasn’t as easy to expose them for much of the last part of the last century...

Romney is definitely no Reagan and does nothing to excite me but there are large numbers of liberals or center/left rats that realize mullah obama has been an epic failure and are ready to vote his ass out or sit out the election (believe me, i live in liberalsville, NY and hear them daily)...and this does not even take into account the independents or white male vote, thats turned against obama...then there’s the young vote, that’s fractionally as motivated to vote for ayatollah obama this time around...

and while Romney will not fire up the base, many of the conservatives who sat on the sidelines and did not vote in ‘08 because they did not like McLame will not make the same mistake twice...

And from a Conservative's viewpoint it is: "Translating ABC's piece...”you might as well vote for Romney,folks!”"

1992

Clinton->43.0% of popular vote

Bush---> 37.5% of popular vote

Perot---->18.9% of popular vote

=================================================

Clinton->370 Electoral Votes

Bush---->168 Electoral Votes

Perot---->000 Electoral Votes

Oh, I remember 1980 very well! Folks were sick and tired of Carter, and he only made worse what Nixon and Ford had done with their wage and price controls before him. There was, as Carter put it so aptly, "Malaise in America".

Reagan came along speaking positively and optimistically about America, and folks were drawn to him. You would never have known it by the polls, however. The media even then was covering for the Dems, and everyone was astounded when Reagan won, and won decisively!

I sure hope that's the case!
