(Reuters) - U.S. Democratic Representative Barney Frank wed his longtime partner, James Ready, on Saturday, becoming the first sitting congressman to enter into a same-sex marriage.
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick officiated the ceremony and added some levity by saying Frank, 72, and Ready, 42, had vowed to love each other through Democratic and Republican administrations alike, and even through appearances on Fox News, according to Al Green, a Democratic congressman from Texas.
"Barney was beaming," said Green, who attended the ceremony. He added that Frank, a champion of gay rights and the sweeping reform of Wall Street, shed a tear during the ceremony.
After exchanging their vows, Frank and Ready embraced each other, Green said. "It was no different than any other wedding I've attended when you have two people who are in love with each other," Green said.

I’ll bet Ready married him for his money.
Typical, 'emperor wears no clothes' observation; so favored by Lefties; under the banner of political correctness.
Which, for the 'Reason capable'. . .is recognized as Willful Ignorance; otherwise known as; Liberal Enlightenment; to those who so believe.
Brain Bleach needed!
Obama has never looked happier. . .
Thanks. We must never surrender to the PC commissars! Otherwise, our children will not even realize that there is ANY opposition to homosexual so-called “marriage.” Note that I don’t ever use “gay” either.
There was no marriage there.
A Turkish prison would make a fine honeymoon spot for those pervs.
Shouldn’t you be here defending this? After all, you’re ok with it...right?
I have this horrible vision of the “wedding gown and wedding nest” the next morning. It would look like someone smeared semi-melted Hershey bars on it and spilled a bucket of Crisco oil on it too.
You beat me to it.....that’s what I was going to post - “I’m going to puke”.....
Can't happen ... words below are from Wikipedia.
"Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., (November 29, 1908 April 4, 1972) was an American politician and pastor who represented Harlem, New York City, in the United States House of Representatives (194571). He was the first person in New York of African-American descent elected to Congress, and became a powerful national politician. In 1961, after sixteen years in the House, Powell became chairman of the Education and Labor Committee, the most powerful position held by an African American in Congress. As Chairman, he supported the passage of important social legislation under presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. Following allegations of corruption, in 1967 Powell was excluded from his seat by Democratic Representatives-elect of the 90th Congress but he was re-elected; and he regained the seat in a 1969 United States Supreme Court ruling."
As I put my hand over my mouth, the vomit cascaded from my nostrils.
Men living together are friends. To pretend that they are heterosexual couples is silly and it mocks marriage between a man and a woman.
Sexual union can only be achieved by same sex couples by means of sexual perversion that adds substantial risk to the physical and mental health of the participants, and maybe to the population at large. To ignore such risks is a serious abrogation of responsibility of the political officials who are supposed to protect the health and safety of the public.
I think "kneeling" would be more accurate.
Words cannot adequately express my disgust.
James "Rough and" Ready.
Barney supported perverts “marrying” for the money...
But I bet he had a pre-nup that was tighter than a dogcollar.
All perverts are hypocrites.
That sounds painful. But, I guess, whatever floats your boat.
What’s wrong Bawwwney? Still got a little in your eye from last night?
