ATLANTA (CBS Atlanta) – Google is throwing its support behind gay marriage.
The Internet search engine has launched a new campaign called “Legalize Love,” which aims to encourage equal marriage rights for gay, lesbian and bisexual people all over the world.
Saturday’s announcement was made at the Global LGBT Workplace Summit in London, according to Dot429.com, a network for LGBT professionals.

Well... I’ve defended Google on many things over the years.
I never cared much what their homepage graphics did or didn’t depict.
But this is a bridge too far.
Considering their ENORMOUS global power, they ought to stay neutral. I am surprised that they would take such a decisive stance for what amounts to at best 2 % of the population. And “LEGALIZE LOVE” : OK, gotcha. In other words, all those who are against, would love to have “love” become illegal the globe over. We are “Haters”. Gotcha.
Beat me to it. The term "google" will never have the same meaning and I find I can conduct internet searches just fine wihtout them.

“Legalize love?” Are they playing stupid just to get under our skin, or are they actually that stupid? Declining to recognize a particular partnership as a “marriage” is NOT the same as wanting to outlaw that partnership and any like it, and certainly not the same as outlawing “love.” The debate over the legal definition of marriage has NOTHING to do with love, sex, or anything citizens may consent to do with each other in their private lives. You cannot objectively define an emotion and enforce it as the term of a legal contract involving tax money.
And just to be annoyingly predictable: if marriage is nothing but a validation of people’s love for each other, does that mean love between more than two people isn’t realize love? Otherwise, anyone who opposes marriage licenses for more than two partners, even while advocating same-sex marriage, is as guilty as any of trying to “illegalize love.”

You are 100% correct in all you say. But, see, you are thinking reasonably, and basic logic is hard to refute. So buzzwords and catchphrases and bumpersticker slogans such as “Legalize Love” will simply drown pesky people like you out. ;) Of course MANY people who support one man/one woman traditional marriage feel it is fine to legalize civil unions. But this Google slogan makes short work of that, huh? Even National Organization for Marriage, which supports Civil Unions, was deemed officially a HATE group. Orwellian Newspeak is clever. Quite clever.

If we legalize “Love,” shouldn’t we also legalize “Hate?” After all, to support one but to oppose the other would be discrimination...

Right, and what is so silly about this is the implication that somehow LOVE is globally “illegal” until this campaign is successful. If they were honest, they would know that NO form of “love” has been deemed illegal anywhere. Even sodomy is now legal in the US and elsewhere - if it can in fact be linked to “love” at all.
Were they honest, they would call it “LEGALIZE SAME SEX MARRIAGE CAMPAIGN” and be done with it.
OBVIOUSLY, Google does not know how to correctly define, “love.”

I think dogpile donates a part of their revenues to animal shelters.
Dogpile is a joke. They index a tiny fraction of the web, and their relevance (quality of their search results) sucks.
The only real alternative to Google is Bing. Google is the 800 pound gorilla in this space. If you want an alternative to Google to stay around, I highly recommend that you use Bing.
Any alternatives to gmail? Time for me to leave them.

Certainly a repressive institution that it would seem to attempt to prohibit their love for anyone but the one to whom they are betrothed. So the question is why is it that a leftist would want to get married if marriage is simply about love?
The term Google was a misspelling of the word Googal (a number followed by a billion zeros), ironically the domain name Googal was already take. At the time of Googles founding.
I do agree though Google should keep their effin mouths shut about their liberal policies. Apple is a company I buy many products from and I know their libs, but at least they’re not in your face about it. Google is very in your face, if somebody can do search better, which is highly unlikely, I’ll start using another search engine.
