Physicians are supposed to be smart people. It takes a lot of time and study to reach the point that you can call yourself a Doctor. Not to mention the expense of Medical School.
You would at least think someone with all that time and money invested in their education would be a bit self protective of their livelihood, wouldnt you?
Well, apparently, liberal ideology overrides self economic preservation among the Kool-Aid drinkers.
On Wednesday, the day before the ObamaCare decision came down I had an appointment with my doctor because I needed to refill the two prescriptions I take for my blood pressure.
First off, let me say I hate going to see a doctor. Especially when I am not sick. And I have to be pretty darn sick to go to a doctor or hospital.
But my doctor refuses to refill a prescription without an expensive office visit. She has to pay back those student loans and make that BMW payment after all, right?
There has been some consideration of allowing pharmacies to sell some medications over the counter no prescription needed including Blood Pressure Medications.
If they do, I can promise you that unless a body part breaks or falls off, I will never go back to a doctor. I have always been a strong proponent of self medicating, a craft I learned in College in the early 1970′s.
So when my doctor walks in the examining room a full 30 minutes after my appointment time (which is fairly good for this practice) and after the usual How have you been doing? inquiry, I casually mentioned that I am hoping the Supreme Court will strike down the Health Care Law on Thursday.

Nah, you should see him for every twitch, ache and pain you have...
...her...
My financial manager is a flaming statist Obama kook. I don’t trust anybody without common sense, so seeking a new guy.
Might be a good idea, he probably was at the bottom of his class, or is FMG(foreign medical graduate).
I wonder if this doc knows the average wage for a doc in Sweden? He might just change his tune. Or maybe he should see they also do not drive shiny new Mercedes and park diagonally displaying their vanity plates that say “footdoc” there either. Their egos are much more downsized because the “shine” factor of being a doctor is really diminished when you are making 65k a year.
I like my doctor, she is a Christian who left Egypt to escape persecution....she & her husband, also a doctor, are wonderful people. They do charity work every year to help the poor people back home.
The doctor bitches about the CEO of Blue Cross but ignores government workers who get full benefits at tax payer expense. I can hardly keep up with my increasing rates let alone the damn taxes I get hit with.
I recently discovered that my estate-planning attorney is a flaming, left-wing obama lover. Needless to say, I will no longer patronize that firm.
Sounds like she is a highly uninformed MD.
She already knows that the elderly only get a portion of their bill paid by Medicare. Medicare is managed by the Gov’t. Why would she think that the US Gov’t would pay a dime more for every other person who came to them needing medical help?
Now the hospital is flooded with people, all seeking FREE medical services for any and all perceived problems, and the Gov’t is paying about 60% of the bills. That leaves a 40% shortfall ... where do you suppose the hospital is going to cut back to make up that 40%?
Her salary is going to plummet, and her hours are going to explode. It will soon mean that all her training, skills and hard work will be for naught, because Obamacare will place her pay range far, far, far below the rate she currently enjoys. Her pay will plummet and her taxes will rise.
And don’t think that her Mal-Practice Insurance rates will remain flat, either. With increased patience loads, lower bills and ever-increasing costs to provide medical care; the Mal-Practice lawsuits will exponentially increase.
This is why many MD’s are considering retiring or changing careers should Obamacare take over.
Firing a no good doctor is good....I recently fired my demotologist, my condition is worse than when I first went to the jackass.....In my 73 years only fired 3....You walk out and never look back...any doctor that talks politics with patients is a stupid jackass...
Bear in mind that docs spend decades being indoctrinated by the government run education establishment. It’s a wonder any of them escape turning into liberal zombies.
Also, medical school curricula are now pushing ‘humanism’. A total recipe for disaster.
Wanna get real ticked off?
Check out this little taxpayer funded jewel:
How did I find it? A radio ad (probably taxpayer funded also), of course!
From the bottom of this campaign....err...government website:
A federal government website managed by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services

I plan on malikng a futile complaint to my congresswoman.
Our doctor was supporting Obamacare, too. He is now semi-retired, just taking over hospital rounds for the other doctors in the group practice.
He was a terrible doctor, anyway. He once diagnosed a bone tumor in my husband’s leg, as tendonitis. When my husband came out of the office with the diagnosis, I told him to go back in and tell the doctor to guess again because tendonitis pain goes away when the joint is immobilized, it doesn’t get worse.
My husband refused. He was happy with the diagnosis of injury rather than pathology. Six months later, he was back in the office with a near stress fracture from pressure of the tumor inside the femur.
My octor was telling me how he liked the idea that everyone would have access to medicalhelp.
I aske him how he thought about the Government tellinghim they would pay all Doctors the same pay and tell themwhere they can invest his money.
He said HUH?
I explained it to him and he didn’t believe me.
Their tune will be changing in a couple of years.
Or just wait. ObamaCare will do that for you. My prediction is you will no longer get to see a doctor except in rare circumstances. You will get to see only unionized nurse practitioners.
IMHO, lots of schooling and book smarts can't hold a candle to common sense. And anyone with common sense is not gonna be a fan of nobama.
Prior to a minor “procedure,” my anesthesiologist and I had a chat. I felt comfortable enough to let him know that I was a Tea Party activist and had actually taken part in anti-obamacare demonstrations in DC. In the recovery room, prior to discharge, he hugged and thanked me.
My Doctor has a lot of conservative magazines in his waiting room. All the outdoor sports ones such as Sports Afield, also National Review and several military ones.
The only problem I have with him is he has too many patients and can’t spend a lot of time with you.
I just heard that Eric Cantor has announced an emergency vote on ObamaCare scheduled for this coming Wednesday, July 11. That's all I know, perhaps someone else can flesh this out for us.
In the good old socialism of the USSR, doctors made about the same as a school janitor.
Nothing like starting off with an old canard. It has been shown many times that they are quite average in intelligence. Hard working to get through med school, and good at memorization, but leave it at that. Physicists they are not. The fact that so many are liberals just proves the point............
A medical doctor may have no more than a high school education in most subjects, not directly related to medicine. IOW, they (on average) are no better qualified than the average person to expound on politics, finances, economics, etc.
The same can be said for any specialist — but, most others don’t have to deal with a god complex too.
Doctors are nothing. Try sitting down with court imposed Liberal psychiatrists. LoL!
“In the good old USSR doctors made about the same as a school janitor.”
Yes, and many of them WERE made into janitors, often in prisons, if they spoke a forbidden word or were even accused of thinking one.
Your doc has to see you once a year to keep prescribing medications. If she does not, and you develop a side effect of the medications or some other condition that should be picked up on, he/she is liable
As for being liberal, medicine is an interesting dichotomy. I would say half my colleagues are staunch conservatives and the other half bleeding heart liberals. There seems to be very little middle ground. I guess just goes to show that book smart does not always equal common sense smart.
When did mothers stop teaching their children not to talk politics or religion with someone until you know what their politics and religion are?
Especially someone who can foul things up for you.
“This is why many MDs are considering retiring or changing careers “
One of my long-time docs just told me he’s closing his practice, and going to work for a research facility.
My Doctor is a Flaming Pro-ObamaCare Liberal Time to Change Doctors!

Should read my former doctor??????
Blood pressure medicine should be over the counter.
I quit taking mine as I was sick of seeing a doctor for nothing more than a prescription that hasn’t changed in years.
I quit going to the Rheumatologist because she would stack appointments and a two hour wait was considered normal. I wouldn’t disrespect my clients like this even if I could get away with it.
I am pinging humblegunner because he loves doctors.
Without a prescription? Wouldn't people possibly pick the wrong ones then? I like the idea for its simplicity, but it seems to have a fairly large ..er.. downside.
Well... even if it were a right, if she thought the health care system sucked before Obamacare, wait 'till she sees how the people who run the VA, the Indian Health Service and military medicine are running it!
If she otherwise seems reasonably competent, I'd keep her just so I could say "Toldja! Toldja! Toldja!" for the next 20 years.
(Anyway, since more than 40% of US physicians are over the age of 55, finding another one to treat you and the 30 million new patients who are going to be demanding their "free" $9 birth control prescriptions won't be easy.)
I live in Los Angeles and have been pleasantly surprised to learn that all but one of my doctors and specialists are vehemently opposed to ObamaCare. Same with 5 of my mother’s doctors. The background of these doctors are young, older, Jewish, Hispanic and Asian. Some of them I would have guessed as Democrats but they are all appalled by this legislation. One very good primary care doctor has already retired at 55 and a few others are contemplating early retirement.
The prescriptions hadn’t changed in more than five years.
Also note I quit taking it. If I could get it at CVS without seeing a human who thinks they are a god I would still be taking it.
Finally, the downside is mine to consider. If I should have to have a prescription for high blood pressure meds as dictated by the government shouldn’t boozers need a prescription for their bottle of Old Overcoat?
Only a doctor with low or no self esteem could allow himself or herself to be enslaved by a government run health care system.
I think doctors are so busy being doctors they don’t have time to pay close attention to politics.
My GP, around the time Algore was doing some tv special, decided to lecture me about Global Warming. He was not amused when I told him I thought the whole thing was nonsense and seemed astonished that I, regular person that I am, had the nerve to disagree with all those smart people (including himself, I'm sure).
He hugged and thanked you?
Are you male or female?
This is a subject that always piques my interest, as it comes in conversation in my circle regularly. I know a doctor who is not only a flaming liberal, but as gay as gay gets. However, he’s an ace surgeon in every respect. He’s consistently recognized for leaving smaller, cleaner scars, fewer post surgery complications and for just overall being exceptionally good at what he does.
IMHO, it would take an idiot of patient to ask for another doctor for political reasons. The patient wouldn’t be hurting anyone but themselves.
I have colleagues who run the entire political spectrum. A couple of ordinarily politically sane ones voted for Obama. (I told 'em "you want change? If he's elected, you betcha you're gonna see some change!" They've come back to Earth and now admit it was a mistake. But a couple of colleagues, one AA and another an evangelical Christian lib, are still going to vote for him, I think, or at least I can't see them voting for a Republican.
It doesn't mean they are any better or any worse at what they do because of their politics.
As a patient/consumer, if you don't get the best product or service that you can for your money, you are only doing yourself a disservice.
Socialist docs are control freaks who embrace the tender mercies of social Marxism and they will use every excuse to abuse the heck out of patients. They’ll rationalize killing you, too.
But soon, no one will have a choice because those who are not docs who are not amoral communist slaves will leave the unprofession. Hospitals and clinics will be on par with public schools in no time.
Just a couple of weeks ago I went to a new eye doctor for an eye exam because I was due for new contacts. We had switched insurance companies and I was trying to get the last of my doctor appointments in as my healthcare coverage was up at the end of June. I had never been to this guy before but he was on the list of approved optometrists.
I wear the daily disposables because I am allergic to most of the solutions as well as the materials in some of the lenses. Eyes swell, get red and then start to leak. This joker makes a crack to me about contributing to the land fill problem with my throw away lenses...WTH???
Everyone is entitled to good, descent Health Care. It is a right, she [the doctor] said.
I guess the doctor won’t be worried about getting paid for this visit then.
Wow. You found one liberal doctor out of thousands of conservatives. Now the Mercedes snarks start.
I'm looking at doctors quitting, cutting back, changing their practices in ways that will limit availability.
When you need one, I hope he's stuck changing the tire on his Honda CR V.
Obama got elected and he went straight to research
Well, my family practitioner that I saw for over 10 years was one of the doctors in the Rose Garden back in 2009. She was president of the family practitioners association in Arizona at the time. Needless to say, I switched providers immediately. So much education....and yet still retarded.
