Tom Cruise, other Scientology members dislike portrayal of a cult leader in new film 'The Master'

Tom Cruise’s fellow Scientology members would like to master “The Master.”

A source familiar with Paul Thomas Anderson ’s film about the founder of a Scientology-like religious movement tells us officials of the controversial church group “hit the roof” when they learned — presumably through Cruise — that the movie contains a scene which suggests the belief system was little more than a product of the leader’s fertile imagination.

In May, Anderson, who is friends with Cruise and directed him in “Magnolia,” the 1999 film that earned Cruise a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination — reportedly screened his film for the “Rock of Ages” star.

“The Master” is said to be loosely based on the life of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, and stars Philip Seymour Hoffman as Lancaster Dodd, the founder of a 1950s religious movement called The Cause.

Hubbard, a onetime writer of pulp and science fiction , founded the Church of Scientology in the ’50s.

Both the Wrap.com and Huffington Post reported other similarities between the fictional Dodd and the late Hubbard.

Hubbard was a crackpot and anyone who follows his demented “religion” is a dim bulb. So there, Cruise.

Does the movie go into the relationship between L. Ron Hubbard, Jack Parsons and Aleister Crowley?

You’ll be surprised at how far up the food chain these white shirt, navy pants zombies are in the studios. They have the biggest buildings in the Hollywood vicinity, aside from the major studios.

Most of them walk around with their Dianetics book and when you ask them “do you actually believe this sh*t about those 737’s dropping souls into volcanoes?”, they don’t answer but give you the stare. Then again, I must be jealous because I wished I cam up with this scam involving an alien named Lord Xenu.

I’m pretty sure Hubbard had the same opinion of anyone who followed “his religion”. His whole purpose was to demonstrate how gullible people could be.

Lisa McPherson spent $175,000
http://www.lisamcpherson.org/spt10-31.htm

More importantly, Scientology was taking care of her for 17 days before her death.

You were lucky you got out.

The sound is bad..but here is David Miscavige blaming Eli Lilly and Germany for Lisa Mcpherson’s death.

Any scenario where Crowley is the "one sane man"* of a trio is pretty wacky.

*or at least Larry to Hubbard's Moe and Parson's Curley.

Hubbard founded Scientology to win a bet that he could get people to believe anything. Obviously he won.

for those that don’t want to listen to David snow his people about a case many of them probably didn’t even know about

Eli Lilly, Germany, ex FBI , St Petersburg Times, local government, mafia who wanted a casino , all wanted to take down Scientology using Lisa McPherson (she had taken the evil Prozac)...but the great and powerful David made them change the information and all was well- except Lisa McPherson who died on the way to a hospital more than 20 miles away rather than go to one about a mile away.

Would you like to be able to get a tax break for your child’s religious education. Say you were spending $24,000 a year.

Join Scientology - you get a tax break

Orthodox Jew- Oy Vey, not allowed.

You have to be one of the IRS chosen people. Only the group of people covered by a secret agreement with the IRS.
