The problem is that Chambers now claims active homosexuals can still go to heaven just by believing in Jesus.

Yeah, I went to that link and (if accurate - always an "IF") - seems that Chambers thinks that Evangelicals single out "only" the gay subculture to calls for repentance and conversion, and that's biased or unbalanced.

But is that really true? There are a lot of ways to define "subculture" ---could be ethnic ("Miami Cuban Subculture") or religious ("Amish subculture") or lifestyle ("Survivalist subculture") ---but there really are subcultures based on the group's transgressiveness per se. These are the ones you could call the Major Malfunction subcultures, like

And I would guess that Evangelicals would approach all "Major Malfunction" subcultures with a hope of rescue, healing, conversion.

Yet LGBT is a form of malfunction that is being mainstreamed, re-normed, promoted and celebrated. LGBT activists are persistently approaching the churches for inclusion "just as we are." That makes them different.

Churches are supposed to be into healing, not enabling and co-addiction. Lots of churches provide meeting space for Dieters/Wellness support groups or Alcoholic Anynymous. None, to my knowledge, are expected to support "Celebrate Obesity!" or "Alcoholic Pride."
